Sporting News projects Stanford to play for national championship
  • Good for the Cardinal and the league. I hope they get there. (51%, 119 Votes)
  • Possible, but unlikely. Eastern bias will win out: SEC champ against Big Ten champ for title (31%, 71 Votes)
  • Not so fast my friend. Stanford may not even win its own division - Oregon is the better team (18%, 42 Votes)

Pac-12 looking to formalize a policy of reduced contact in practices
  • I'm okay with it - but only if every other league has a similar policy (43%, 48 Votes)
  • It's a poor idea. Many injuries are in non-contact drills (Richardson; Webb). Football is football, and there will be injuries (30%, 33 Votes)
  • It's a good idea. Concussions and injuries have been on the back burner for too long (27%, 30 Votes)

CU Administration wants to double the amount the athletic department raises

Should Bill McCartney be considered for Athletic Director?
  • No. Coach Mac burned his bridges in December; a polarizing figure who will turn away as many fans as he brings in (50%, 107 Votes)
  • Maybe. It would be better to have him back in the fold, but perhaps not as AD (25%, 54 Votes)
  • Yes. Think Tom Osborne at Nebraska. Respected; knows what it takes to create a winner in Boulder (25%, 54 Votes)

Should the major conferences be required to go to nine game conference schedules?
  • Yes. There needs to be a level playing field for playoff selection (56%, 122 Votes)
  • No. Each conference can do as it pleases (and the Pac-12 should go to eight) (25%, 55 Votes)
  • No opinion. Right now, CU is so far off the radar nationally that it's hard to care (19%, 41 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
