Which quote from Laviska's Shenault interview with The Athletic do you like best?
- "The vibe around here is lit. We’re all fired up and we just can’t wait to prove ourselves" (83%, 177 Votes)
- “I’ve just opened up more, actually talking ... I'm trying to talk more on the field. I definitely want to be a leader" (10%, 22 Votes)
- “As I got older, I thought about (the NFL) more and more ... (KD Nixon and I) talk about it, like, every second. We really want to live this. We really want it" (7%, 15 Votes)

CU men's basketball to open Pac-12 play with three games at home; finish with three games on the road. Thoughts?
- I'm just glad that the Buffs - after starting the last four seasons on the road - have a chance to open Pac-12 play with some home games (49%, 78 Votes)
- Love it! Getting off to a fast start in Pac-12 play has eluded the Buffs over the past few seasons, and this schedule will allow the Buffs a chance at a quick positive opening to Pac-12 play (27%, 42 Votes)
- Not a big fan. This is a CU team which is going to contend for an NCAA tournament berth. Late season road games (and potential losses) could do significant harm to CU's chances at March Madness (24%, 38 Votes)

Which of the following quotes about Steven Montez do you like best?
- Mel Tucker: "All great quarterbacks are the No. 1 competitors on their team; they take care of the football; they make good decisions. He has the ability to do all of those things" (72%, 151 Votes)
- Laviska Shenault: "From the day I got here, you can say he’s checked every box to get better, or what you’re supposed to do as a young person becoming older" (22%, 45 Votes)
- Nate Landman: "He’s got a good balance between being serious and being goofy, When stuff needs to be done, Steven does it; and when it’s time to have a good time, Steven’s there, too" (6%, 13 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from a junior college outside linebacker, Guy Thomas. Thoughts?
- He WAS a four-star recruit, but that was when he was a member of the Recruiting Class of 2017. Now he is at a Mississippi junior college after hardly playing at Nebraska. We'll see how it works out (52%, 120 Votes)
- I just like the idea of a "four-star" recruit of Nebraska coming to play for Colorado. Too bad he won't be on the field to take on the Cornhuskers this fall (25%, 57 Votes)
- A former four-star recruit with offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Miami, Michigan and Notre Dame? Gimme!! (23%, 52 Votes)

How would you rate CU's chances at defeating Stanford at home on November 9th?
- Fair. We'll know a great deal more about both teams by the second weekend in November, but, at least for now, you have to acknowledge that Stanford is the better team (46%, 81 Votes)
- We'll see. I would like to say that the Buffs will take out the Cardinal, but David Shaw will have a bye week to prepare for the Buffs ... that makes it an even tougher ask for Tucker & Co. (31%, 55 Votes)
- Good. Stanford is not the Cardinal team of past seasons. Stanford was ranked 123rd in rushing offense last year, and 115th in passing defense. They are vulnerable to a Folsom Field upset (23%, 42 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
