Report: Jim Leavitt out as defensive coordinator at Oregon. Thoughts?
- Not news, unless you note that Oregon is just being Oregon - get a top 10 Recruiting Class signed, THEN fire the defensive coordinator who helped bring the players in (47%, 141 Votes)
- Good news. Glad that CU won't have to face Leavitt's defense, but CU has its own problems to work on. Like Coach Tucker said, it doesn't matter what anybody else is doing (39%, 116 Votes)
- Great news! Don't know if it was greed or ego which brought about the move, but I'm glad we won't have to hear about how great Oregon's defense is when we play the Ducks in October (14%, 43 Votes)

Vontae Shenault says he has Mel Tucker's blessing to explore playing basketball. Thoughts?
- Not a bad idea, as long as Shenault doesn't become a jack-of-all-trades ... and a master of none. First things first - dominate on the gridiron! (59%, 168 Votes)
- Love it! Shenault is a gifted athlete, Tad's bench is thin, and it would make a great human interest story (and it's not as if CU couldn't use some positive national publicity). Win-win situation (28%, 79 Votes)
- Hate it. Vontae Shenault should take note of his brother's injuries, and keep himself ready for football. Doubling the chance of injury for a potential star makes no sense (13%, 38 Votes)

What do you make of hiring Brian Michalowski as CU's tenth assistant coach?
- Another former Georgia coach. I do like that he has defensive coordinator experience, and is familiar with other coaches on the staff. Not a "wow" hire, but seems like a solid pick (46%, 111 Votes)
- It took an extra month ... to hire someone who was already on the staff? If he had been Tucker's first choice, he would have hired him sooner. Sounds like CU didn't get its first (or second) choice (44%, 106 Votes)
- Michalowski has coaching experience at Georgia, at Arizona State, in Germany and in the junior college ranks. Happy to have him on board (10%, 26 Votes)

Tad Boyle's Buffs are 14-9, 5-6, with seven Pac-12 games to play. Your prediction?
- The Buffs are playing well, but still have games against the Arizona schools and then Washington on the road. A 4-3 finish, and a 9-9 Pac-12 record would be a nice finish after a 2-6 start (67%, 184 Votes)
- I'm still a skeptic. Buffs don't tend to play well against the Arizona schools, Washington, and Utah. Hope for the best ... expect the worst (17%, 47 Votes)
- The Buffs are on a three game roll, with five of the next seven games at home. I can see the Buffs finishing in the top four of the conference, with a bye in the Pac-12 tournament (16%, 45 Votes)

What will you be looking for most from the wide receiver corps during spring practices?
- In the absence of the former coaching staff, will tight ends actually be thrown a pass or two? (62%, 145 Votes)
- In the absence of Laviska Shenault, will one or more of the underclassmen make statements that they are ready to be primary threats? (24%, 55 Votes)
- In the absence of Laviska Shenault, will upperclassmen Tony Brown and K.D. Nixon make statements that they are ready to be primary threats? (14%, 34 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
