247 Sports names Steven Montez as one of the Top 25 quarterbacks in the nation. Thoughts?
- Glad Montez is getting some national recognition. I guess I'm more concerned that CU's senior three-year starter is rated no better than the fifth-best quarterback in the Pac-12 (46%, 98 Votes)
- Well deserved. Montez is on his third quarterbacks coach in as many years. This will be the year that he will shine, and show he is of NFL-caliber (31%, 67 Votes)
- Not sure it's deserved. Montez has plenty of records, but mostly due to his long career. His record as a starter - 12-15 - is the only one that matters, and it's sub-par (23%, 49 Votes)

Brian Howell: "Expectations should be tempered just a bit, as there is plenty of work to be done in Boulder"
- I'm not sure that fans expectations have been raised, but the players seem to be excited, and that's what really matters (43%, 120 Votes)
- Agree. Colorado will enter the 2019 season on a seven-game losing streak. Buff fans tend to forget how horrid this team was last November (35%, 96 Votes)
- Disagree. Each year is a new team, and there is enough talent on hand to go bowling in 2019 (they just need to be coached better). In Tuck We Trust! (22%, 61 Votes)
Start Date: April 15, 2019 @ 6:06 pm

Which of the following spring scrimmage stats impressed you the most?
- None of the above. Spring scrimmage stats are of no value other than to the players' parents and roommates (44%, 128 Votes)
- That CU had five backs with productive carries - and four touchdowns. Tucker & Co. will have numerous options at running back this fall (28%, 81 Votes)
- That the CU quarterbacks threw 41 passes, with two touchdown passes ... and no interceptions (18%, 53 Votes)
- That the were five different receivers with at least three catches. Even without Laviska Shenault participating, the CU wide receiver corps is deep - and talented (10%, 29 Votes)
Start Date: April 14, 2019 @ 8:54 am
End Date: No Expiry
Which spring scrimmage quote from head coach Mel Tucker do you like best?
- "I thought the attention to detail was there, guys were focusing throughout from start to finish. I thought the execution was solid" (48%, 103 Votes)
- "We're still not playing as fast and as physical as we need to, but I thought that we made a step today" (44%, 94 Votes)
- "In terms of the competition and guys straining to finish and extending drives and things like that and making plays, I thought they ran around pretty good today" (8%, 18 Votes)
Start Date: April 12, 2019 @ 7:53 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Which practice report tidbit do you find the most interesting/intriguing?
- "Sophomore Jonathan Van Diest is getting some time at inside linebacker alongside Nate Landman" (56%, 109 Votes)
- "Wide receiver Jaylon Jackson is working his way into the mix, getting some time with the No. 1 group and making plays" (28%, 54 Votes)
- "Junior cornerback Ronnie Blackmon is logging some snaps with the No. 1 group" (16%, 30 Votes)
Start Date: April 11, 2019 @ 6:39 pm
End Date: No Expiry

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
