CU picks up a preferred walk-on commitment from outside linebacker Steele Dubar. Thoughts?
- A linebacker named Steele Dubar? Just on name alone, I like this player. Here's hoping he grows into a contributor and a scholarship player (45%, 119 Votes)
- An undersized linebacker with only one Group of Five offer (Nevada)? Fine with it, but not expecting much (32%, 85 Votes)
- A starting linebacker for the No. 1 high school team in the nation (California's Mater Dei). An exciting addition for the Class of 2019 (23%, 60 Votes)

What stat from the second scrimmage impressed you the most?
- That there were seven completions to the tight ends. If that trend continues, there will be a whole new dimension to CU's offense for the 2019 season (38%, 63 Votes)
- That Mel Tucker was pleased (after not being pleased earlier this week). I like the way he put it: "I thought we put some money in the bank today" (36%, 60 Votes)
- That the Buffs ran 84 plays without a turnover. As OC Jay Johnson put it: "For the most part we've really done a great job taking care of the ball. If we do that we're going to win a lot of games" (26%, 45 Votes)

Which post-scrimmage quote resonates the most with you?
- HC Mel Tucker: "More physical, more intensity, really good back and forth with the offense and the defense. Good execution on special teams. I thought we put some money in the bank today" (73%, 120 Votes)
- OC Jay Johnson on having no turnovers: "For the most part we've really done a great job taking care of the ball, If we do that we're going to win games" (13%, 22 Votes)
- HC Mel Tucker: "I see guys playing faster and that's because they know more of what to do and how to do it. There's more communication on both sides of the ball. That's a good thing" (14%, 22 Votes)

New York Times publishes "At Colorado, a Breach in Football’s Wall". Thoughts?
- I have no problem discussing a difficult issue, but it seems unfair that CU is being singled out. It always seems that if there is a negative football story, Colorado is the school which is mentioned (45%, 102 Votes)
- It's outrageous that two CU Regents bash their own school in a national publication. CU is a leader in concussion research, but comes across as if the Buffs play in leather helmets (38%, 87 Votes)
- It's a tough subject, and needs to be discussed. Hard as it may be to believe, a generation from now football may be a thing of the past (17%, 37 Votes)
Start Date: April 18, 2019 @ 6:05 pm

The Wednesday "back to work" practice quote I liked the best:
- "You can't sit back and hope that it gets better. We had to make some changes. We changed the format of the practice" (55%, 102 Votes)
- "We're learning how to practice. We're learning the value of a practice, how important it is. How important every rep is, how important every meeting is" (33%, 62 Votes)
- "Coaching is teaching. We spend a lot of time on our teaching progressions. We spend a lot of time in our meetings making sure we lay out the information" (12%, 23 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
