Which Wednesday post-practice quote do you like best?
- Linebacker Alex Tchangam: "The intensity level has really gone up and they encourage us to be physical every play. I think we enjoy that because it's really what football is about" (76%, 164 Votes)
- Offensive lineman Casey Roddick: "I've added a lot of muscle and gotten faster ... I'm in much better shape than when I got here" (12%, 26 Votes)
- Outside linebackers coach Brian Michalowski: "We're mixing it up, giving guys ones and twos reps and just making sure they are as versatile as they can be" (12%, 25 Votes)

UCLA hires Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin. Thoughts?
- Not news for CU, but bad news for the Pac-12. The UCLA coaching search was a national joke, and the Bruins ended up with new coach far from a "splash" hire. Not good optics for the conference (69%, 134 Votes)
- Bad news for CU. Cronin coached the Bearcats into nine consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. No telling what he can do with UCLA's recruiting advantages (19%, 36 Votes)
- Good news for CU. The Bruins failed to land a name coach, which should only help Tad Boyle & Co. compete on the recruiting front (12%, 24 Votes)

Which post-practice quote is the most encouraging to you as you look forward to the 2019 season?
- HC Mel Tucker: "We're going to coach them up. We have a high standard. Keep getting better every day. They're young but they're talented. That's a good thing" (47%, 95 Votes)
- LB Davion Taylor: "It's just a higher level of intensity ... When the coaches are right there with you, it makes you want to work a little harder" (41%, 83 Votes)
- DC Tyson Summers: "I think certainly the intensity that it takes to practice at a high level of defense is going to help us as we try to go play at a high level" (12%, 23 Votes)

The College Football News rates as a team which could be one "to get excited about" ... but a 5-7 record. Thoughts?
- Just ignore these prognostications. CFN has UCLA going from 3-9 to 8-4 and USC going from 5-7 to 9-3. Bias against CU continues (39%, 85 Votes)
- CU is ranked 62nd, behind 10 of its 12 opponents (so is the real prediction 2-10?). Tucker & Co. have a lot of work to do to re-shape CU's image (38%, 83 Votes)
- It's nice to see a preseason pick which at least recognizes the potential for CU in 2019. We won't get too many of those this spring/summer (23%, 51 Votes)
Start Date: April 7, 2019 @ 6:58 pm

Which of these quotes by KD Nixon about Darrin Chiaverini has you most excited?
- "He's stepped his game way up. You can tell that this receivers group is trusting coach Chev way more" (51%, 96 Votes)
- "Chev is one of the best coaches ... I can't say it enough: I'm thankful he's the receivers coach" (35%, 65 Votes)
- "He puts in more time with us ... Even though he probably still wants to (be an OC), I'm thankful for it" (14%, 27 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
