With CU's Pac-12 semi-final loss to Washington, DRatings dropped CU from a No. 6 seed in the NIT to a team sitting out the post-season. Thoughts?
  • I still see the Buffs getting an NIT bid. CU had a winning conference record in a Power-Six conference. A 21-win Buff team deserves to keep playing, and I think they will (72%, 171 Votes)
  • Not sure I care at this point - football spring practices start on Monday! (16%, 38 Votes)
  • I'm afraid that prediction may prove true. While Tad Boyle believes CU to be a "top 100 team", with all of the automatic bids, that's not how it works. Buffs' resume is just not good enough (12%, 27 Votes)

Buffs fall to Washington Huskies, 66-61, in Pac-12 semi-finals. Thoughts?
  • I just hope that a 21-win season will be enough to get the Buffs into the NIT. It would be great if this team was given the chance to keep playing (51%, 126 Votes)
  • Disappointed, but a good effort. Playing for the third time in three days with a depleted roster, the Buffs just ran out of gas. (40%, 97 Votes)
  • Poor coaching again dooms Buffs. Colorado played well in the first half for the second game in a row, then stunk it up in the second half again. This time, it cost them. (9%, 22 Votes)

Buffs roll to 37-18 halftime lead over Beavers, finish with a 73-58 win over Oregon State. Thoughts?
  • Outstanding effort! First half was a masterpiece (with Tyler Bey on the bench with two fouls for most of it!). Great team effort - Go get the Huskies, Buffs! (60%, 195 Votes)
  • All I know: Buffs are at 21 wins for only the sixth time in school history, and an NIT invite is now a realistic expectation! (36%, 116 Votes)
  • Very glad to get the win, but the clock is about to strike 12. Up next are the Washington Huskies. Enjoy the two wins, Buff fans, because the party's now over (4%, 15 Votes)

No. 5 seed Colorado holds off No. 12 seed California, 56-51. Thoughts?
  • Any win is a reason for celebration. With Arizona's loss, only Tad Boyle's Buffs have at least one win in every Pac-12 tournament. (Also, happy to see the Buffs crack the 20-win mark!) (41%, 129 Votes)
  • Happy for the win, but it's safe to say that the Buffs will not defeat Oregon State with a similar effort Thursday afternoon (40%, 124 Votes)
  • A great win. How often can a team commit 23 turnovers and an off-day from a star like Tyler Bey and still win? Fourth straight win, and ninth in past 11 - Well done, Buffs! (19%, 60 Votes)

Colorado is a ten-point favorite over Cal in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament. Thoughts?
  • Too high. Cal just knocked off Washington, Washington State and Stanford, teams against which CU went 1-5 this season. The is game is a toss-up (50%, 124 Votes)
  • About right. The Buffs have more talent than do the 8-22 Bears, but Cal has some momentum. It will be a CU win, but the Buffs won't pull away until late (46%, 114 Votes)
  • Too low. Cal is on a roll, but so are the Buffs ... and, by the way, CU is 8-0 in first round games under Tad Boyle. Buffs advance comfortably (4%, 12 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
