CU gets an unexpected second home NIT game (v. Norfolk State, Monday, 7:00 p.m., MT). Your plans?
- I'm glad that the Buffs will have a home game for their "Sweet Sixteen" NIT home game, but I'll be watching on TV/catching up on line (48%, 97 Votes)
- Not sure if I will be able to make it, but I am concerned that the student section will be sparse (spring break). Hope the Buffs can attract more than the 3,091 who were there for the Dayton game (31%, 63 Votes)
- With a friendlier tip-off time (7:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 p.m.) and more notice, I am likely/more likely to attend (21%, 42 Votes)
Start Date: March 21, 2019 @ 8:45 am
End Date: No Expiry
Buffs hold off Dayton Flyers, 78-73, to advance to second round of NIT. Thoughts?
- All I know is that this team has more wins than all but three teams in CU history ... and all the players on the floor now will be back next season. Great days ahead! (68%, 225 Votes)
- As Tad Boyle put it: "The only ones left playing in post-season tournaments are good basketball teams" ... and CU is a good basketball team. A great team win! (26%, 86 Votes)
- Glad the Buffs didn't blow it at home against a team which got bounced in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament, but let's not get too excited here ... it's still the NIT (6%, 22 Votes)
Start Date: March 20, 2019 @ 7:19 am
End Date: No Expiry
What is your favorite Mel Tucker quote from the first day of spring practices?
- "We have to challenge ourselves to improve each and every day, offense, defense and special teams. That's what spring ball is all about, just getting better and finding out who can play for us" (42%, 114 Votes)
- On his practice philosophy: "Sense of urgency, be efficient, be effective. We don't want to waste time and we want to get our work done and move on to the next deal" (38%, 103 Votes)
- "I thought the guys were able to give effort, they were able to sustain throughout the practice, I thought they got stronger as practice went. That's what I expected" (20%, 52 Votes)
Start Date: March 18, 2019 @ 5:48 pm
End Date: No Expiry
CU not only makes the NIT field of 32, but get to host a first round game. Thoughts?
- Very excited for these Buffs! A home game is a great reward for this team. Buff fans need to pack The Can in appreciation for getting to play at home - bring on the Flyers! (65%, 211 Votes)
- Fine with it ... but let's recall that NIT stands for Not In Tournament. NCAA or bust for Tad next year (21%, 68 Votes)
- CU's 26th all-time post-season appearance (8th in 9th season for Tad). Five wins to the title (and highest win total in CU history!). Tad keeps adding to his record-setting run in Boulder (14%, 44 Votes)
Start Date: March 17, 2019 @ 6:45 pm
End Date: No Expiry
With CU's Pac-12 semi-final loss to Washington, DRatings dropped CU from a No. 6 seed in the NIT to a team sitting out the post-season. Thoughts?
- I still see the Buffs getting an NIT bid. CU had a winning conference record in a Power-Six conference. A 21-win Buff team deserves to keep playing, and I think they will (72%, 171 Votes)
- Not sure I care at this point - football spring practices start on Monday! (16%, 38 Votes)
- I'm afraid that prediction may prove true. While Tad Boyle believes CU to be a "top 100 team", with all of the automatic bids, that's not how it works. Buffs' resume is just not good enough (12%, 27 Votes)
Start Date: March 16, 2019 @ 5:53 pm

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
