Buffs lose third straight, falling on the road to Stanford, 72-64. Thoughts?
- Three straight losses ... and not looking good in doing so. Sad to see CU going south with tournament play right around the corner (74%, 274 Votes)
- CU's 21 regular season wins are tied for the most in school history. I'm trusting that the Buffs will right the ship when the tournaments start. Fingers crossed! (13%, 49 Votes)
- Nice of the Buffs to almost single-handedly help other Pac-12 teams get into the NCAA tournament. You're welcome, Stanford, UCLA ... (13%, 46 Votes)

Report: CU to hire Taylor Embree as its new tight ends coach. Thoughts?
- Withholding judgment until we know who the other five assistants will be. The tight ends coach is probably the least vital assistant, so I'm giving Embree a pass for now (54%, 192 Votes)
- Like it. A coach with a solid background with the position, with west coast ties, as well as family ties to CU. Good all the way around (36%, 129 Votes)
- Not a fan. A younger man with exactly zero recruiting experience. If the head coach hasn't been on the recruiting trail for a decade, he needs to surround himself with coaches who have (10%, 34 Votes)

CU men's basketball is 21-8, 10-6 in Pac-12 play, and are in fourth place in the conference. Predictions for the Buffs' regular season finish?
- The way the Buffs have played the last two games, I'm afraid CU will finish outside of the top four - again! - and have to play a first round game in Las Vegas (again!) (45%, 120 Votes)
- I can see the Buffs hanging on to a top four finish (the first since joining the Pac-12!), but - despite being only one game out - any chance at winning the regular season title is gone (37%, 98 Votes)
- I am ever the optimist. CU has two winnable games (Stanford, Utah) left, and other contenders have tougher games left. CU can still win its first Pac-12 regular season title! (18%, 48 Votes)

Coach Dorrell retains four assistant coaches from Mel Tucker's staff. Thoughts?
- Excellent news! Chiaverini, Hagan, Michalowski and Summers will provide stability and continuity ... and help keep recruiting momentum (60%, 291 Votes)
- Good news, but there are still six spots to be filled. The 2020 season - and beyond, for that matter - will be dependent upon the coaches Dorrell can bring in at this late date. Fingers crossed. (29%, 143 Votes)
- Glad we kept the four we kept, but disappointed that we lost our two line coaches - Kapilovic and Brumbaugh - to higher paying jobs. Hard to celebrate when CU is still coaches' second choice (11%, 51 Votes)

ESPN gives Colorado a "C-" grade for the hiring of Karl Dorrell. Thoughts?
- I'm going to ignore national pundits this spring (we know what they are going to say), and wait to see what Dorrell & Co. can produce this fall (71%, 353 Votes)
- If we're being objective, it's hard to argue with "(Dorrell) isn’t a dynamic personality and will need very smart staff hires (to be successful)" (19%, 96 Votes)
- Ridiculous. ESPN notes that no one has done as well at UCLA since Dorrell left, but still concludes, "It's hard to get excited (about Karl Dorrell)" (10%, 48 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
