What timeline are you looking for concerning the naming of CU's next head coach?
- I don't have a timeline. It's important - check that, vital - to get this hire right, even if it means messing with spring practices in Year One (50%, 212 Votes)
- By the end of the month at the latest. Spring practices begin March 14th, and you would think CU would want their new coach to have at least two weeks to prepare (26%, 108 Votes)
- By next Wednesday at the latest. It only took Michigan State a week to find their coach. The longer CU waits, the worse it looks (and the more players and assistant coaches CU may lose) (24%, 100 Votes)

Which of the following "outside of the box" candidates would you most like to see as CU's next head coach?
- Former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian - He seems to have cleaned up his act since being fired at USC, and was also successful at Washington. He knows the Pac-12 (68%, 244 Votes)
- Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin - CU fans are thinking "Dan Hawkins" - Rick George might be thinking "Chris Petersen" (13%, 48 Votes)
- Arizona State DC Marvin Lewis - The former NFL head coach just recently returned to the college game to coach with Herm Edwards. Maybe he wants his own gig (12%, 42 Votes)
- North Dakota State head coach Matt Entz - The last two North Dakota State head coaches are doing well at Wyoming and Kansas State respectively (7%, 27 Votes)
Start Date: February 14, 2020 @ 7:42 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Which potential candidate with no previous coaching ties to CU would be your favorite?
- Oregon DC Andy Avalos - Turned the Ducks' defense around in short order, and did well at Boise State (28%, 107 Votes)
- USC OC Graham Harrell - Harrell is great with QB's and offenses, and would be considered a splash hire (25%, 96 Votes)
- Oklahoma DC Alex Grinch - Had success at Washington State, Ohio State and Oklahoma ... could be ready for a P-5 head coaching opportunity (22%, 86 Votes)
- Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun or Wyoming coach Craig Bohl - Both are used to making more out of less, and are certainly familiar recruiting in the Mountain West states (13%, 51 Votes)
- Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson - All he does is win, and he is used to recruiting Texas for talent (12%, 45 Votes)
Start Date: February 13, 2020 @ 10:20 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Of the potential candidates with CU ties, which would you like to see as CU's next head coach?
- Former OC Eric Bieniemy - Bieniemy would give an instant boost to the school (and recruiting), and would be a hit with the Buff Nation (42%, 271 Votes)
- WR Coach Darrin Chiaverini - The interim head coach gives CU the best chance at stability going forward (31%, 195 Votes)
- Former DC Jim Leavitt - His defense took CU to the Pac-12 title game ... and he still has a house in Boulder (16%, 103 Votes)
- Former S Ryan Walters - Walters is the DC at Missouri, and would be returning to his alma mater (8%, 52 Votes)
- Former OC Mark Helfrich - He took Oregon to the national championship game, and has recruiting ties throughout the west (3%, 18 Votes)
Start Date: February 12, 2020 @ 6:54 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Report: Mel Tucker to leave Colorado for Michigan State. Thoughts?
- I can't believe Mel Tucker looked the entire Buff Nation in the eye and said he was staying, only to leave for more money. We're better off without someone who didn't want to be here (50%, 283 Votes)
- I'm sick to my stomach. After 15 years of wandering the desert, I thought we were on our way back. Guess CU is not destined to have nice things (like, say, a winning football team) (26%, 150 Votes)
- Spring practices are less than a month away. CU can't cry over spilled milk - Rick George and Lance Carl need to find a successor ... and soon! (24%, 138 Votes)
Start Date: February 12, 2020 @ 8:06 am
End Date: No Expiry

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
