Which of the following quotes/explanations from Mel Tucker do you like best?
  • I don't like either one. I want to know why Tucker was willing to entertain the offer in the first place. His credibility has taken a bit hit (49%, 89 Votes)
  • “It’s always flattering when a school reaches out to you and has interest. I feel like we must doing something right here to garner that type of attention" (30%, 54 Votes)
  • "These things happen in this business. I was able to release a statement to really express how I feel about CU and what we’re doing here" (21%, 39 Votes)

CU defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh reportedly heading to Tennessee. Thoughts?
  • I'm just glad CU's great defensive line roster was put into place before Brumbaugh left. Mel Tucker should have no problem finding a quality replacement more than happy to take on this roster (45%, 173 Votes)
  • CU (and other Pac-12 school) had better get used to moves like this. The extra $20 million/year SEC schools are earning from media rights is going to go somewhere ... like coaches' contracts (35%, 136 Votes)
  • It's bad news, but movement by assistant coaches is not uncommon. Despite having (nearly) unlimited funds, Oregon still lost its cornerbacks coach (and top recruiter) to USC (20%, 75 Votes)

CU, at 19-5, 8-3, is alone atop the Pac-12 Standings with seven games to go. Will CU win the Pac-12 regular season title?
  • Maybe ... if the Buffs can get at least a split against the Oregon schools, a title is in play. If not ... all bets are off (53%, 178 Votes)
  • No - Five of the final seven games are on the road (Oregon has five of seven at home). Buffs will be a top four team (with a bye), but won't win the regular season title (28%, 93 Votes)
  • Yes - I believe! The Buffs have their best-ever record after 24 games, and have found different ways to win. The other contenders have flaws - this is the year! (19%, 66 Votes)

Mel Tucker tweet: "I am committed to @CUBuffsFootball for #TheBuild of our program, its great athletes, coaches & supporters". Thoughts?
  • I'm satisfied. The tweet came out less than a day after the "story" broke, and put the fears of CU fans and players to rest. Glad we can move on so quickly (43%, 153 Votes)
  • If Coach Tucker didn't actually interview for the job (it seems unlikely that he did - he was in Boulder for Signing Day and in So Cal this weekend), then it's okay. If he interviewed ... I'm upset (34%, 122 Votes)
  • Too many unanswered questions here: 1) Did Coach Tucker interview for the job?; 2) Why did it take until Saturday at noon to post a response? Where there's smoke, there's fire (23%, 85 Votes)

Detroit Free Press reports that Mel Tucker is a candidate for vacant Michigan State position. Your reaction?
  • All I know is that, even if he stays, Coach Tucker may have lost a great deal of goodwill with CU fans ... not to mention the damage done to his relationship with his team - and 2021 recruits (46%, 156 Votes)
  • It's a report until it is proven otherwise. Coaches are allowed to look around, and it still seems likely that Coach Tucker will be in Boulder. Patience, people - let's see how this plays out (43%, 147 Votes)
  • Thank you, Larry Scott! When CU is $20 million in TV revenue (per year!) behind every Big Ten and SEC school, poaching is going to happen (See: Leach, Mike) (11%, 37 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
