Which factor gives CU its best chance at an upset over USC this Saturday (noon, MT, Pac-12 Networks)?
- Improvement along both lines. CU had to play 11 offensive linemen against Minnesota, but only six against ASU. Plus, Mustafa Johnson is back on the D-Line. Better line play = better chances at a win (43%, 103 Votes)
- The indifference of the USC players, with a lame duck coaching staff. If Oregon State can take out USC in the Coliseum, the Buffs can win in Folsom (36%, 86 Votes)
- The motivation of the CU players. Getting back home, with a chip on their shoulder with an 0-14 all-time record against USC, the Buffs will be properly motivated (21%, 48 Votes)

Defensive end Mustafa Johnson back in the lineup, will play against USC. Thoughts?
- Very excited to have Mustafa back. Our best defensive lineman from last season back on the team ... and well motivated to show he can play at the next level. Great news! (50%, 149 Votes)
- Happy for the young man that he has a second chance at a senior year, but the issues on defense will not be corrected with one player. Good news, but not earth-shattering (32%, 97 Votes)
- I'm just amazed that, with the history CU has with the NCAA, that Johnson was able to return. We'll take what we can get - and not ask any questions (18%, 53 Votes)

CU opens as a seven-point underdog to USC (Saturday, noon, MT, Pac-12 Networks). Thoughts?
- Uh ... Colorado is averaging seven points a game, while USC is averaging 32 points per game. It doesn't take a math major to figure this bet out (67%, 232 Votes)
- All I know is ... the line is more an indictment of the USC story than any confidence in the Buffs. Vegas is betting on the Trojans not showing up the rest of the season (28%, 97 Votes)
- CU will be at home and motivated. USC was the No. 15 team in the country and a playoff contender a month ago, and now has nothing to play for. I like the Buffs' chances to at least cover (5%, 15 Votes)

Arizona State pulls away in the second half, handing CU a 35-13 defeat. Thoughts?
- I'm just glad that this game was played so late that no one in the college football world was watching. The Buffs are an embarrassment to watch right now (40%, 132 Votes)
- The game opened with two runs up the middle and a sack. Can we please now have a change at offensive coordinator? Any shakeup now would be a welcome change (37%, 121 Votes)
- About as expected. The Buff offense showed some signs of life, but it wasn't nearly enough. Onto the next game, and perhaps the best chance ever to defeat USC (23%, 73 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado at Arizona State (Sat., 8:30 p.m., MT, ESPNU)
- U-G-L-Y ... A motivated ASU team v. a Colorado team which has far more questions than answers. Buff fans won't have to stay up late for this one. Sun Devils in a rout (53%, 157 Votes)
- I may be wearing black-and-gold glasses here, but CU is 2-0 against Herm Edwards, and has won its last two road games in Arizona. Buffs surprise everyone (including themselves) and pull off the upset! (24%, 71 Votes)
- I can see this one playing out the way it probably would have been forecast a month ago. The Buffs will hang tough, but it will be a close loss in the desert (23%, 70 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
