What to you was the most interesting first-of-the-week news item?
- That Greg Brown has returned to coach CU defensive backs. He's coached two Jim Thorpe Award winners at CU and has four decades of experience at the collegiate and NFL levels. Welcome back! (66%, 179 Votes)
- That Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff was in Boulder visiting CU. I know Kliavkoff is making the rounds, but it's nice to know Rick George had Kliavkoff's ear for a day (17%, 47 Votes)
- That CU picked up a last-minute walk-on quarterback. James Mott may not have a great resume, but he will give the Buffs four arms in the QB room. Welcome, Mr. Mott (I hope we never have to use you) (17%, 45 Votes)

Are you drinking the Karl Dorrell Kool-Aid? Are you all-in on the Buffs, 2021?
- A qualified yes. If Brendon Lewis can stay healthy for 12 games, this team can be special. But the Buffs are one more QB injury away from a disastrous season (50%, 154 Votes)
- No. I am hopeful, certainly, but this team faces six ranked teams, and has questions at QB and along both lines. The Buffs could play better, and still have a losing record (35%, 109 Votes)
- Yes, I'm a Kool-Aid drinker. The over/under for CU wins last year (seven-game season) was 1.5, and Karl Dorrell won Coach-of-the-Year. With a full off-season? Watch out! (15%, 48 Votes)

Which quote from Karl Dorrell after the second Fall Camp scrimmage do you like the best?
- "You can see how confident the defense is when (Nate Landman) is out there ... When all those pieces are back, and we're ready to roll ... It's going to be a really good defense" (58%, 131 Votes)
- "It was a kind of a give-and-take scrimmage ... I like where we're at. It's a battling team ... The best thing about it, no serious injuries - that's helpful" (26%, 58 Votes)
- "(Freshman kicker) Cole Becker, he's ice. He's got ice in his veins ... He's had a fabulous camp ... He's missed only one field goal, and he was pissed" (16%, 35 Votes)

Which, for you, was the most eye-brow raising news story to end the week?
- That the Pac-12, ACC and Big Ten are plotting a strategic Alliance to counteract SEC moves. Interested to see what the announcement entails (52%, 136 Votes)
- That the CSU women's soccer team used an NCAA loophole to turn a 3-0 halftime deficit against CU into a no-contest. Keep it classy, Rams! (27%, 71 Votes)
- That Rick Neuheisel sees Nebraska using scandal to oust Scott Frost: “Nebraska can’t stand that their behind Iowa State right now” (21%, 53 Votes)

Pac-12 releases weekend schedules for the men's basketball 2021-22 season. Thoughts?
- Let's try this again ... I won't pay any attention to CU basketball until December (at the earliest). We're two weeks out from the Buffs' opener against UNC. No room in my head right now for MBB (60%, 87 Votes)
- CU opens January conference play on the road against the Oregon schools. Is it just me, or does it seem like the Buffs always open January on the road against tough Pac-12 opponents? (31%, 45 Votes)
- With a 20-game conference schedule, there are only two misses (at USC; at home v. Cal). Cal is terrible and CU owns USC ... a tough draw for the Buffs (9%, 14 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
