CU men's basketball team falls to 9-7, 0-6 in Big 12 play after 83-73 loss to Oklahoma State. Thoughts?
  • The scary thing - the Buffs are losing to other teams at the bottom of the Big 12 standings. There are still two games against Kansas to be played, and Houston, and Iowa State, and Baylor ... Yikes! (40%, 82 Votes)
  • We knew it would be a rough transition, moving to the powerful Big 12 and losing three players to the NBA Draft, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Hope the Buffs can turn it around (33%, 69 Votes)
  • Yes, the Buffs made it to the second round of March Madness last year, but this is ridiculous. Not sure how Tad Boyle missed on so many transfers and recruits, but this is a very poor team (27%, 55 Votes)

NFL Divisional playoffs v. the College Football national championship - Which has your attention?
  • I have the bandwidth for both, thanks for asking. The NFL playoffs are huge, but the college game is catching up with the playoffs expanding to 12 teams. Just sorry that football season is ending (49%, 81 Votes)
  • The National championship game. I favor the college game over the NFL, and the college football playoffs have been exciting. I'm looking forward to Notre Dame/Ohio State on Monday night (33%, 54 Votes)
  • The NFL Playoffs. Once CU's season is done, my attention turns fully to the pro game (at least on the field. Off the field, I'm still CU 24/7). The NFL rules sport for a reason (18%, 29 Votes)

Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham receives a new contract at $5.8 million, up from $4.1 million. Thoughts?
  • I like the idea of having a contract leaning heavily on incentives. Coach Prime doesn't lack for confidence, so pay him very well ... when he consistently produces wins for the program (62%, 136 Votes)
  • Apples and oranges. Yes, Dillingham won the Big 12 and went to the CFP, but Coach Prime's elevation of the CU program is unmatched. Coach Prime deserves to be paid as one of the top coaches in the US (32%, 71 Votes)
  • Sounds like a good target for CU and Coach Prime. Talk of Coach Prime wanting $10 million per year is just not warranted - and not fair to CU under the circumstances (6%, 14 Votes)

Rate your level of interest in the naming of some of CU's new assistant coaches
  • Low. Until the Coach Prime saga plays out, the hiring of assistant coaches is irrelevant. If Coach Prime leaves, then so will the vast majority of coaches. One step at a time - get the extension done! (49%, 118 Votes)
  • High. The strength and conditioning coach and offensive line coaches, in particular, will play a large role in how the team comes together and plays this fall (26%, 61 Votes)
  • Medium. We'll see how it all plays out. Yes, these positions are important, but I'll pay more attention this spring, when the coaching staff (and roster) are settled (25%, 60 Votes)

Who will be CU's starter at quarterback against Georgia Tech - Freshman Julian Lewis or Senior Kaidon Salter?
  • Kaidon Salter. Lewis should currently be midway through his junior year in high school. Lewis won't be ready (physically or otherwise) to take on a Power Four opponent. This is why Salter is at CU (62%, 164 Votes)
  • Trick question. The real question should be: Who will be the starter come mid-October? I can see Salter getting the non-conference starts, with the real battle for starter coming during Big 12 play (29%, 76 Votes)
  • Ju Ju Lewis. The five-star freshman didn't come to take over the keys to the kingdom in 2026. Lewis graduated early and enrolled early to be a starter (9%, 24 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
