Which of the following concerns you the most about CU's 2024 offensive line prospects?
  • Cohesiveness. If there is one room where all of the players have to be on the same page, it's the offensive line. Constantly churning the roster is not a proven path to success (50%, 111 Votes)
  • Talent. Buff fans were sold on the idea of bringing in starters from other teams last year, with disastrous consequences. Slightly better resumes to the new transfers, but CU is still starting over (27%, 61 Votes)
  • Coaching. New offensive line coach Phil Loadholt has nine years of NFL experience, but zero years of experience as an offensive line coach. With so much at stake, was this the right choice? (23%, 50 Votes)

Wide receiver Tar'Varish Dawson and defensive lineman Bishop Thomas first two casualties of the spring. Thoughts?
  • Not really losses. Thomas was apparently either unmotivated or undisciplined, and Dawson was deep on the depth chart in a very talented wide receiver room. Sorry to lose anyone, but not crucial losses (51%, 124 Votes)
  • It all depends on how CU uses the two scholarships come April. If the Buffs find a good replacement defensive lineman and a quality linebacker, it's all good. If not ... a net loss (44%, 106 Votes)
  • Significant losses. CU's deficiencies along the defensive line are well known, and Dawson had a breakout game against Nebraska. Both will be missed (5%, 12 Votes)

After incident at the end of the Duke/Wake Forest game, there's talk about banning rushing courts and fields. Thoughts?
  • There should be a compromise. How about a countdown. Schools could have announcers do a countdown from 25 or 50, giving time for teams to get out, while still giving fans the rush of rushing the court (45%, 84 Votes)
  • Another "get off my lawn" moment. Anyone regret rushing the field at Folsom after a Nebraska win, or the CEC after beating Kansas? It's a right of passage for college students and fans (33%, 61 Votes)
  • Long overdue. It's time to just ban the practice, and give stiff fines to schools who don't enforce the rule. Hire actual security. Don't just hand out a few security vests (22%, 41 Votes)

With four regular season games to play, Tad Boyle's Buffs are 18-9, 9-7. rate CU's chances of making the NCAA tournament
  • Medium. It comes down to a two-game season - beat Cal at home and Oregon on the road - and the Buffs should be in (Oh, and don't slip against Stanford and Oregon State) (57%, 143 Votes)
  • Low. We're talking about the Buffs, right? A team with enough talent to be a sure thing for the bracket is once again a bubble team. The Buffs will tease us by getting close, but won't make it (26%, 66 Votes)
  • High. The Buffs are currently in the bracket at CBS (10 seed), played well against Utah, and have a favorable stretch of games coming up. I like CU's chances (17%, 42 Votes)

A Federal Judge has issued a temporary injunction, prohibiting the NCAA from enforcing NIL rules. Thoughts?
  • Well, it's not as if the NCAA was actually enforcing anything anyway (except for programs like CU, which self-imposed penalties for minor infractions). The Wild, Wild West was already in place (56%, 88 Votes)
  • Is anyone surprised? Every Judge from Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh to this District Court Judge have warned the NCAA they can't win anti-trust lawsuits. Nothing new here (22%, 35 Votes)
  • So ... As of now there are no laws in place restricting any NIL activity? Thanks, Judge, for taking away even the semblance of NCAA control over the sport. Rich teams - go ahead and buy your lineup (22%, 34 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
