Which assistant coach news this week to you was the best news for CU and the Buff Nation?
  • Defensive coordinator Robert Livingston received a raise and an extension. Retention of quality coaches is imperative, and this shows CU is taking Coach Prime (and his goals) seriously (68%, 144 Votes)
  • Former All-Big 12 Buff and former NFL All Pro guard Andre Gurode joining as an assistant offensive line coach. A very nice add to the (otherwise very inexperienced) OL coaches room (20%, 42 Votes)
  • Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk joins the staff as running backs coach. The defensive line improved when Warren Sapp joined the staff - I'm expecting the same from the running backs this fall (12%, 27 Votes)

Which is the best bet on your Buffs (FanDuel Odds):
  • CU a 4.5-point underdog to Georgia Tech in the opener. Yes, the Yellow Jackets have a good returning quarterback, but these Buffs, at home? Pretty sure CU should be the favorite in this game (69%, 85 Votes)
  • CU at 16:1 to win the Big 12. Hard to believe that there are seven teams in the conference which Vegas thinks are more likely to win the conference. Good odds to take the Buffs (28%, 34 Votes)
  • CU at 200:1 to win the national championship. Yes, things have to break right at QB, offensive line and linebacker, but last year's team was only a few plays away from the CFP (3%, 4 Votes)

Report: CU promotes Gunnar White to the position of offensive line coach. Thoughts?
  • I'm not going to have an opinion until this is confirmed. CU has introduced him as a "Co-Assistant Offensive Line Coach". Until White is officially announced, I'm going to hope for more (59%, 118 Votes)
  • Just when you thought things couldn't get worse for the offensive line, things got worse. Zero years as an assistant coach at any level, and now White's a position coach at a P4 school? Yikes (25%, 50 Votes)
  • Well, things actually can't get worse. CU was last in the nation - that's 133rd, folks - in rushing last year, and 124th in sacks allowed. In Coach Prime we trust ... to fix the line (16%, 31 Votes)

What to you is the most enticing aspect of the CU's just released 2025 schedule?
  • That CU has seven home games for the first time in 43 years. It took cancelling previously scheduled games against (now) Big 12 opponents to get there, but I'm glad CU has that advantage in 2025 (58%, 94 Votes)
  • That CU opens with four of its first five games at home, with the lone road game coming against Houston (4-8 in '24). A fast start is certainly possible (24%, 39 Votes)
  • That CU has two late bye weeks, with a week off before playing Utah and a week off before playing Arizona State. That sets up well for a team with designs on competing for a Big 12 title (18%, 30 Votes)

Start Date: February 4, 2025 @ 5:11 pm

The Athletic writers have six potential teams winning the Big 12 (none being CU), with BYU the heavy favorite. Thoughts?
  • The fact that six different teams made the list shows you how wide open it will be this fall. Buffs just need to take care of their own business (and roster), and we'll see how the season goes (57%, 82 Votes)
  • Just some more bulletin board material for the Champions Center. The over/under was 3.5 wins for Year One; 5.5 for Year Two. Look for CU to be underestimated again this fall (34%, 48 Votes)
  • Makes sense. BYU looked like world beaters when they roughed up the Buffs. Recency bias: BYU good; CU not good. It's seven months to the start of the season, so I'm not concerned (9%, 13 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
