CU receives a commitment from three-star tight end Zayne DeSouza. Thoughts?
- A three-star high school prospect adding depth to the Class of '25 (up to seven commits!)? Check. An in-state prospect? Check. A tight end? Check. Welcome, Mr. DeSouza! (57%, 72 Votes)
- Nice to see CU get an in-state recruit to quiet some of the criticism, but with an offer sheet of CU and Washington State, not a prospect which is going to move the excitement needle (25%, 32 Votes)
- So ... CU has a total of seven commitments from the Recruiting Class of 2025, and two of them are tight ends? Hard to believe, based up CU's lack of tight end talent/depth in the past decade (18%, 23 Votes)

CBS Preseason 1-134 rankings has CU in at No. 55 nationally (No. 11 in the Big 12). Thoughts?
- CU wasn't a Top 25 team last September, but wasn't the 82nd team in the nation last November, either. It's August - let's get the season started and see how the Buffs fare on the field (50%, 84 Votes)
- Ignore or delete the article. CU has a quarterback which will be vying for the Heisman, and went up 27 spots. Nebraska has a freshman quarterback with promise, and went up 37 spots (25%, 43 Votes)
- Sound about right. CU is much improved from the team which went 1-8 in Pac-12 last fall (witness the 27-team rise from the rankings at the end of last season), but still has much to prove (25%, 42 Votes)

CBS: CU has the most difficult schedule in the Big 12. Thoughts?
- A tough non-conference schedule, and games against all five of the top-rated teams in the Big12? Welcome to the party, CBS ... we already know CU has the most difficult schedule in the Big 12 (61%, 97 Votes)
- The conclusion is partially based upon CBS assuming that the Buffs will struggle with NDSU, and that rivalry games are tougher than they should be. Not buying it - the schedule is easier than '23 (23%, 36 Votes)
- Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but the fact that CU was given a schedule with the most difficult teams may be payback from all the attention CU has been given in the Coach Prime era (16%, 25 Votes)

The 5430 Alliance Press Release Announces New Campaign: "Stampede Into the Big 12". Thoughts?
- I'm just glad we have Coach Prime in Boulder. Without Coach Prime, and the buzz (and dollars) he brings to the table, CU would be in dire straits, both on and off the field (59%, 79 Votes)
- I love it. I love the fact that there are smart people who are actively raising money for CU and its athletes, and keeping CU competitive in this brave new world of NIL and Collectives (25%, 33 Votes)
- Nice slogan, but how much money will 5430 raise? How much is being raised compared to other schools in the Big 12? In the Power Four? Without some transparency, we don't know if this is working (16%, 22 Votes)

Trevor Woods has gained 20 pounds, and says he's comfortable with his move to linebacker. Thoughts?
- I'm a fan of Woods as a holdover who made the adjustment to the new team. Not sure if he is the "next Brian Urlacher", as Coach Prime suggested, but he should be good in his new role (52%, 108 Votes)
- I'm excited about the possibilities here. Woods was an excellent safety, but pressed into duty at linebacker late last year. I'll be interested to see how well he does this fall (36%, 74 Votes)
- Not exactly putting lipstick on a pig, but the truth is that the coaches tried to bring in better linebackers through the Portal, but failed. The linebacker corps is still the weakest unit on the team (12%, 26 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
