CU receives a commitment from four-star wide receiver Quanell X Farrakhan, Jr. from Houston. Thoughts?
  • A speedy four-star wideout with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and two dozen other Power Four schools. Yes, please! (62%, 125 Votes)
  • I don't know which is harder to believe: That the pundits continue to insist Coach Prime doesn't recruit high school stars; or that I am getting used to seeing four-star prospects commit to CU (28%, 56 Votes)
  • Always glad to get a commitment from a four-star player, but until or unless the lines on both sides of the ball prove that they have improved, I'll be more interested in commitments from linemen (10%, 21 Votes)

Coach Prime promotes Damione Lewis from defensive analyst to defensive line coach. Thoughts?
  • What we are not hearing is why Sal Sunseri is no longer with the team. What exactly is behind the promotion of Lewis and the removal of Sunseri? Going to need some clarification (62%, 74 Votes)
  • A first round NFL pick with five years of experience in The League. Plus, he's been around the team as an analyst. I like the looks of this promotion! (24%, 29 Votes)
  • One of the greatest concerns CU fans have had about the team is the lack of continuity along the lines, and now there is a new defensive line coach three weeks before Camp? Color me concerned (14%, 16 Votes)

Report: CU the only "corner" school to receive a bonus for joining the Big 12. Thoughts?
  • Nothing really to see here. CU saw the writing on the wall, and jumped the sinking Pac-12 ship before it sank. Too bad the call didn't come from the Big Ten, where the real money is (65%, 117 Votes)
  • Story should be getting more national press. CU was given $2.5 million to join the conference, while the other three schools got nothing. Kinda shows how valuable dear 'ol CU was to the Big 12 (31%, 56 Votes)
  • Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but in the world where the average athletic department budget is over $100 million ... CU should have held out for a bigger payday (4%, 6 Votes)

Which of the following statements from the CBS' Dennis Dodds article about Coach Prime do you find to be the most snarky/infuriating?
  • Prime's coaching chops are still under construction. That's because CU enters 2024 on a six-game losing streak. Going 27-6 at Jackson State is one thing, resurrecting a moribund CU is another (41%, 60 Votes)
  • The Hall of Fame player and pitchman might be the best thing the new Big 12 has going for it. Ratings! Hype! Commercials! Entourage! Sunglasses! (33%, 48 Votes)
  • Don't call Deion the face of the best team -- or even the best program -- in the Big 12. Think of Coach Prime in his own category as the best entertainer in the Big 12 (26%, 39 Votes)

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy will not suspend star running back Ollie Gordon after DUI arrest. Thoughts?
  • All I know is that if this had happened to a CU star, it would have been a national story, Coach Prime would have been vilified, and the player would be facing much stiffer penalties (73%, 134 Votes)
  • Hate to admit it, but Gundy's statement that it's a "different time", and that keeping Gordon on the field as a "business decision" just reflects collegiate athletics today (16%, 30 Votes)
  • What a crock. An underage driver blows a .11, and only has "internal penalties"? Guess if OSU was playing Northern Colorado instead of South Dakota State, there would have been a one game suspension (11%, 20 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
