Are you following "Team Colorado" in The Basketball Tournament?
  • Sort of. I see the stories, and I'm glad that the former Buffs have posted some quality wins, but this tournament won't really hit my radar unless CU makes it to the finals and plays for $1 million (41%, 61 Votes)
  • Yes! The former Buffs have taken out Kansas State and Wichita State - both basically road games - in exciting games to advance to a Sweet Sixteen game against Kansas. Go (former) Buffs! (36%, 54 Votes)
  • I'm not even really sure what you are talking about. We're a week away from the start of Fall Camp, and we're supposed to be breathless about made-for-TV tournament of former players? Pass (23%, 34 Votes)

Which of the following CSU games would you rate more highly as one of your all-time favorites?
  • 2004 - CU 27, CSU 24 ... A last-play stop at the three-yard line to preserve the win at home was amazing. Oh, and stopping Marcus Houston on the play before just made the victory all the sweeter (45%, 75 Votes)
  • 2023 - CU 43, CSU 35, 2OT ... Sure, there's some recency bias, but coming back from a double-digit deficit to take out the Rams in front of 10 million viewers - nice! (43%, 71 Votes)
  • 2015 - CU 27, CSU 24, OT ... Another come-from-behind victory, with Sefo Liufau giving CU fans a taste of what was to come in 2016 with a fun (but stressful) night in Denver (12%, 20 Votes)

In 25 simulated of the 2024 season in EA Sports '25, CU fails to make the playoffs every time. Thoughts?
  • Who cares? I don't think there are many pundits (outside of possibly Joel Klatt) who can foresee a playoff season for the Buffs. Nothing to see here - Let's get to a bowl first. (81%, 157 Votes)
  • What bothers me: The simulations have nine Big 12 teams potentially making the playoffs at least once, but not CU. Are there really nine playoff worthy teams in the Big 12? (11%, 22 Votes)
  • So, in the rankings, CU has a top rated quarterback, a Top 25 offense and a Top 25 defense, but there are no scenarios in which CU makes a playoff game? Sounds strange to me ... (8%, 15 Votes)

Athlon (and The Sporting News) have CU playing in the Sun Bowl against North Carolina on New Year's Eve. Interested in going?
  • Yes! CU has been to two Alamo Bowls in the past 15 years, so I will jump on any chance to see my Buffs in the post-season. New Year's Eve in El Paso? Sounds like fun (45%, 58 Votes)
  • Yes, I would like to travel to watch CU play in a bowl game, but no to El Paso. If the Buffs get a bowl game in Las Vegas or LA, sure, but El Paso? (28%, 36 Votes)
  • No. It wouldn't even matter if the Buffs won the Big 12 and qualified for a New Year's Six game in the first year of the 12-game playoffs ... I'm watching from the comfort of home (27%, 35 Votes)

Help settle our CUATG podcast debate: In what tier of the Big 12 would you put CU's defensive line?
  • Tier Three: The overhaul was necessary, and the level of talent has certainly improved, but this unit still has a great deal to prove before it can be said it's in the top half of the Big 12 (59%, 95 Votes)
  • Tier Two: It's a stretch to say that CU now has one of the top four defensive lines in the Big 12, but I definitely feel that CU has a line which ranks in the top half of the conference (37%, 60 Votes)
  • Tier Four: CU's defensive line remains a liability. Throw in the fact that CU just replaced its defensive line coach, and I'm afraid this unit will cost CU some wins (4%, 7 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
