As Early Signing Day, 2022, winds down, how would you rate CU's Recruiting Class of 2023?
  • I'd give it an "incomplete". There are still recruits out there to be wooed. Check back after Feb. 1st, after the transfers have committed and we've passed the 2nd Signing Day (42%, 273 Votes)
  • I'd give it an "A". There were strong commits at almost every position, and several flips from quality programs. It was a great day for the CU program! (41%, 263 Votes)
  • I'd give it a "B". There were some quality signings, to be sure, but there were also some misses. I hate to be picky, but if CU is to be competitive in the Pac-12, there needs to be more upgrades (17%, 108 Votes)

Rate your level of excitement for CU's Early Signing Day, 2022
  • Medium. There hasn't been enough time for Coach Prime to make a huge splash with this Class, but I still am looking forward to getting signatures from more highly-rated prospects than usual! (52%, 225 Votes)
  • High. Coach Prime shocked the college football world last Signing Day, and I expect he has some tricks up his sleeve for Wednesday. I can't wait to see what the showman has in store! (34%, 146 Votes)
  • Low. Coach Prime is trying to limit expectations ("Wednesday’s a big deal, but it’s not the end-all"), and he isn't looking to build up the roster via HS players. It won't be a huge day for CU (14%, 58 Votes)

CU picks up commitments from two transfers and a three-star Class of '23 wide receiver. Thoughts?
  • Slow and steady wins the race. These are nice additions, but Christmas comes on Wednesday, when Coach Prime shocks the college football world with several huge signees ... at least that's what I hope (52%, 222 Votes)
  • Excited about how things are playing out. A huge OL who graded out better than any current lineman, a stud linebacker from Clemson, and a coveted WR for the future. What's not to like? (27%, 114 Votes)
  • Fine with these commits, but we're still lacking sizzle from this off-season. To upgrade from 1-11 to a bowl team, it's going to take greater upgrades from the current roster (21%, 90 Votes)

CU picks up two commitments: three-star West Virginia transfer DL Taijh Alston and LB Kofi Taylor-Barrocks from ... London. Thoughts?
  • It isn't over until it's over. Signing Day is Wednesday, and the Transfer Portal just opened. Here's hoping Coach Prime and staff have a plan in place, and we'll see results soon (64%, 309 Votes)
  • Good pickups. Both are in positions of need, and both have good offer sheets. Welcome to the black-and-gold, gentlemen! (20%, 98 Votes)
  • What a disappointing day. We were promised the "biggest recruiting weekend in CU history", and got two players who would have fit in well with Dorrell's Classes. Color me concerned about Wednesday (16%, 78 Votes)

Thoughts on the impact of Jackson State's 41-34 loss in the Celebration Bowl. A positive or a negative for Coach Prime and CU going forward?
  • It doesn't mean anything. Win or lose, once Coach Prime and his entourage get to CU and meet the recruits, the JSU finale will be history, and the CU era will (finally) begin (80%, 362 Votes)
  • A positive. Hopefully, Coach Prime (not to mention Shedeur, and hopefully Travis Hunter and Kevin Coleman) will come to CU with something to prove. Coach Prime with a chip on his shoulder? I like it (14%, 65 Votes)
  • A negative. The "can't beat an MEAC school, how can he win in the Pac-12?" and "He let down his team by not giving the game his full attention" narratives will carry over this offseason (6%, 24 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
