Thoughts on CU commit No. 4, LB Kamryn Farrar?
  • Like it. A three-star recruit in a position of need. Appears to have a significant upside, which is the way CU recruits (59%, 130 Votes)
  • Not that excited. No Power-Five offers, and not even rated by 247 Sports ... when will CU start landing four-star players with long offer sheets? (31%, 68 Votes)
  • Love it! A speedy future "Buff backer" from Dallas. An excellent pickup! (10%, 21 Votes)

Tory Milller-Stewart to transfer for senior year. Thoughts?
  • A small problem. It would have been nice to have him, but this frees up a scholarship for a (healthy) replacement (49%, 99 Votes)
  • Not a problem. This young team already knows how to play without him, and will be a year more mature next fall (45%, 91 Votes)
  • A big problem. CU is already short (no pun intended) on big men. This is a real loss (6%, 14 Votes)

Lance Carl quote on the new coaches I like best:
  • On Ashley Ambrose: "He’s a dynamic recruiter. He’s going to be able to sell our tradition as he has institutional knowledge" (41%, 77 Votes)
  • On Kurt Roper: "It’s rare that you are able to find a quarterback authority" (30%, 57 Votes)
  • On Kwahn Drake: "What struck me is his energy, his enthusiasm, his appreciation for techniques" (29%, 55 Votes)

Offensive lineman Isaac Miller out for 2018 season
  • I'm just glad that CU is focusing on his future health, not just his collegiate career (46%, 105 Votes)
  • Tough news. Miller could have been a great player, but injuries cost him a chance (27%, 63 Votes)
  • Not really news. Miller has been plagued by injuries his entire career. Wish him the best going forward (27%, 62 Votes)

Three Pac-12 teams invited to the NCAA tournament
  • I have to admit that there is some satisfaction in USC getting snubbed. Somewhere, Tad Boyle is saying, "Hell, yes!" (66%, 133 Votes)
  • To add insult to injury ... UCLA and ASU have play-in games. The Pac-12 could be down to one team by Thursday (23%, 47 Votes)
  • What? The Pac-12 was disrespected? So, what else is new? (11%, 22 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
