It's time! Your prediction for CU's first battle against Nebraska since 2010:
  • The Buffs' big win over CSU, coupled with Huskers' cancellation, give CU the edge in a close game. Buffs win late (52%, 159 Votes)
  • Scott Frost won't be in uniform - players who went 4-8 (115th-ranked scoring defense) will be. Buffs win going away! (38%, 115 Votes)
  • At home or on a neutral field, I might take the Buffs, but Memorial Stadium has been a house of disappointment for CU ... Nebraska wins (10%, 29 Votes)

Start Date: September 7, 2018 @ 3:11 pm
End Date: No Expiry

The Pac-12 South underdog (other than CU!) most likely to cover the spread this weekend:
  • USC - a 6.0-point underdog to Stanford. The Trojans beat the Cardinal twice last year, and probably will again (29%, 93 Votes)
  • UCLA - a 30.0 point underdog to Oklahoma. The Bruins are bad - but not that bad (27%, 86 Votes)
  • Arizona State - a 6.0-point underdog to Michigan State. Sun Devils looked good in Week One; Spartans did not (22%, 71 Votes)
  • Arizona - 4.0-point underdog to Houston. Wildcats will bounce back against Cougars (22%, 69 Votes)

Start Date: September 6, 2018 @ 6:32 pm
End Date: No Expiry

What worries you most about the Nebraska game?
  • Adversity. The Buffs haven't experienced it yet. There will be bad plays, bad calls, and bad bounces. These young Buffs will need to stay poised and focused to pull out a win in Lincoln (44%, 173 Votes)
  • The Scott Frost factor. Never under-estimate emotion. The Nebraska players believe in their new coach - and emotion counts for a lot in college football (36%, 140 Votes)
  • The fact that Nebraska hasn't played a game. The Buffs have no film to work from with this coaching staff, giving the Huskers the element of surprise (20%, 81 Votes)

Start Date: September 5, 2018 @ 6:26 pm
End Date: No Expiry

The quote from Tuesday's press conference that I liked best:
  • Bill McCartney on CU coaching staff: "These guys are good. They have character. They are the real deal" (38%, 143 Votes)
  • QB Steven Montez: ""We obviously didn't run very much of the offense (against CSU). I thought that was fairly obvious" (36%, 135 Votes)
  • RB Travon McMillian: "We are not done. It was just one game. We are going to come to work every day" (26%, 95 Votes)

Start Date: September 4, 2018 @ 6:00 pm
End Date: No Expiry

CU opens as a four-point underdog to Nebraska (now up to five points). Thoughts?
  • Take the Buffs straight up! Nebraska has a true freshman QB and a porous defense! Buffs re-introduce themselves to the nation! (50%, 199 Votes)
  • The line is about right. The game will come down to who wants it more ... I hope it's the Buffs (36%, 144 Votes)
  • If we're being honest, Nebraska is a safer wager. Remember that CU under Mike MacIntyre is 6-20 on the road. This will be a large - and loud - crowd (14%, 56 Votes)

Start Date: September 3, 2018 @ 6:03 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
