5430 Alliance announces partnership with Taco Bell. Thoughts?
  • I don't like the world of collegiate sports we are living in right now, but, if the NCAA is a non-existent body for enforcement, I guess we have to get as many dollars as we can into the program (47%, 97 Votes)
  • Great news! If CU is going to compete in the brave new world of NIL and paid players, this type of investment is crucial for the Buffs to remain competitive (37%, 75 Votes)
  • Be interested to see the fine print of the contract. Is this a short term deal, which expires when Shedeur and Travis leave? Is there an out clause for Taco Bell if Coach Prime leaves? (16%, 33 Votes)

CU opens as a 3.5-point home favorite over Cincinnati (8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN). Thoughts?
  • Write off the Bearcats at your peril. Cincinnati is six points away from being undefeated. It's going to be a tough battle, and the line reflects that sentiment (48%, 112 Votes)
  • Both teams were disappointments last year; both have exceeded expectations this year. I just hope that the Buffs learned their lesson from the big UCF game, and don't read press clippings all week (36%, 84 Votes)
  • Like every other betting line, this will move in favor of the Buffs. CU is a complete team, and will play with great confidence against Cincinnati. Take the bet now, before the line moves! (16%, 37 Votes)

What to you was the most impressive factor in CU' s dominating win over Arizona?
  • The amazing defense. Seven sacks! Three turnovers! Oh, and only seven points allowed. A true domination all afternoon (56%, 201 Votes)
  • The amazing result. CU is 5-2, and has a chance to make this a special season. Play like this the rest of the way? ... The sky's the limit! (41%, 148 Votes)
  • The amazing offense. Almost 150 yards rushing! Only one sack allowed! There were turnovers, but that's all that kept this from being 54-7 (3%, 10 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado at Arizona (2:00 p.m., MT, Fox)
  • It's time ... for the Buffs to show that they are a bowl team, and perhaps more. Arizona is a flawed team, and CU has the tools to exploit the flaws. C'mon Buffs, take it to the Wildcats! (71%, 137 Votes)
  • It's going to be a back-and-forth game, and either team can win it. I'm hoping it's the Buffs, but I wouldn't be surprised if the ball bounced the other way. Too close to call (22%, 43 Votes)
  • The way to beat the Wildcats is by running the ball, and CU can't do that. The Buffs will have their chances, but I'm seeing a frustrating loss in the desert (7%, 14 Votes)

Start Date: October 18, 2024 @ 4:12 pm

Other than CU at Arizona, the Big 12 game this weekend which for me holds the most interest is ...
  • Oklahoma State at No. 13 BYU (Friday, 8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN). I'm not sure which would be more surprising ... that BYU could be 7-0 after Friday night, or that Oklahoma State could be 3-4 (39%, 62 Votes)
  • Kansas State at West Virginia (Saturday, 5:30 p.m., Fox). We'll know that K-State is for real in the Big 12 race if they can knock off the Mountaineers on the road (33%, 52 Votes)
  • Arizona State at Cincinnati (Saturday, 10:00 a.m., MT, ESPN+). CU's next opponent faces 5-1 Arizona State, but an ASU team starting Jeff Sims (a/k/a Mr. Turnover for Nebraska) at quarterback (28%, 43 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
