CU receives a commitment from Class of 2021 recruit Chase Penry. Thoughts?
  • I like that CU is keeping the pipeline to Cherry Creek open, and I trust Coach Tucker and Coach Chiaverini to make good decisions with the limited 2021 scholarships (62%, 193 Votes)
  • No other Power-Five offers ... and another wide receiver. Don't get me wrong, I'll be cheering for Mr. Penry, but this commit doesn't really move the needle that much (20%, 63 Votes)
  • A three-star wide receiver from an in-state championship team? Penry checks all of the boxes - the next Scotty McKnight or Nelson Spruce? (18%, 57 Votes)

Which CU men's basketball projection from TeamRankings.com do you like the best?
  • 99.3% - CU's chances of making the NCAA tournament. Our 16-4 Buffs are all but a lock to make the Big Dance, and it's still January - Love it! (52%, 119 Votes)
  • 5.9% & 0.8% - CU's chances of making the Final Four and winning national championship ... so you're telling me there's a chance!! (35%, 80 Votes)
  • 16.8% - CU's chances of winning the Pac-12. Not bad for a team which has one Pac-12 title, and that was as a No. 6 seed. CU has never had a bye in the Pac-12 tournament - perhaps this year! (13%, 32 Votes)

CU moved up three spots, to No. 20, in this week's AP poll. Thoughts?
  • I just like the fact that the 2019-20 team has now been ranked in nine weekly polls ... the most of any team in CU history. Well done, Buffs! (45%, 115 Votes)
  • Like it. The national media pay more attention to ranked teams, and it's good to see Boyle & Co. being recognized for their 16-4 start (33%, 85 Votes)
  • If Selection Sunday were this week, I would be impressed. Let's see how the Buffs fare over the next six weeks before we get to excited about national rankings (22%, 58 Votes)

CU picks up its second commitment from the Recruiting Class of 2021. Thoughts?
  • Like it. Mr. Nelson is 6'5", 310-pounds in high school, and is another recruit from the Denver area. You can't teach size, so it's all good! (54%, 161 Votes)
  • We'll see. Nelson just switched over to the offensive side of the ball last year. If he has an all-state year as a senior, I will be very happy with this commitment - regardless of his Rivals rating (40%, 121 Votes)
  • No Power-Five offers or recruiting rating. I thought we were getting past the days when CU wouldn't be settling for winning recruiting battles against Colorado State (6%, 17 Votes)

Start Date: January 26, 2020 @ 7:09 pm

No. 23 CU takes down Washington, 76-62. Thoughts?
  • Excellent team victory. Twenty-two assists on 29 baskets; holding a double-digit lead for over 30 minutes of game clock? Love it! (39%, 110 Votes)
  • We'll see about March in March. For now, it's the first win over Washington in six tries, and (will be) a record-setting ninth week in the polls. I'll take it (37%, 106 Votes)
  • Okay. The Buffs are 5-2, but only four of the final 11 games are at home. Let's see if the Buffs can take their magic on the road (24%, 67 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
