Washington State coach Mike Leach hired by Mississippi State. Your initial reaction?
  • It will be interesting to see who Washington State hires. If it's not an Air Raid aficionado, the WSU offense may be out of sync for the next few seasons (45%, 143 Votes)
  • This is good news for CU, as WSU and Leach have been a thorn in CU's side (especially in games played in Pullman). Looking forward to adding more W's to CU's win column in years to come (42%, 133 Votes)
  • Look out, SEC West! It will be interesting to see how Leach's Air Raid offense fares against the physical defenses of the SEC (13%, 40 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from defensive lineman Na'im Rodman do you like the best?
  • “We’re going to come back bigger, better, faster, stronger, smarter, more connected ... It’s going to be something different next year" (87%, 211 Votes)
  • “Coming here, I knew I had to compete. Keep working. Just do what I gotta do to get ready and help the team any way I can" (7%, 16 Votes)
  • "I’m going to get better and they’re not going to think I’m such a young guy anymore" (6%, 15 Votes)

At the midway point of 2019-20 regular season, the Buffs are 12-3. How do you see the remainder of the season playing out?
  • Buffs will earn their first Pac-12 tournament bye (No. 4 seed or higher), and will wear a white jersey in the first round of the NCAA tournament (No. 8 seed or higher) (50%, 127 Votes)
  • The Buffs will stumble, but will be a high seed in the Pac-12 tournament, and will sneak into the NCAA tournament as a double digit seed (and be one-and-done) (37%, 94 Votes)
  • After the humbling loss to Oregon State, I'm not sure this team will make it to the NCAA tournament. This season may turn into a long run in the NIT (again), missing out on March Madness altogether (13%, 35 Votes)

CU rejoins the AP poll (at No. 25); McKinley Wright named Pac-12 Player of the Week. Thoughts?
  • Just a reminder of how embarrassing the OSU loss actually was. The Buffs would have been ranked in the top 20 if not for the brain freeze the last six minutes on Sunday (56%, 123 Votes)
  • I just hope that Wright and the Buffs use the accolades as motivation to deserve such recognition again in the near future (24%, 54 Votes)
  • Well deserved on both counts. The Buffs stumbled on Sunday, but the win over the No. 4 team in the nation more than offset the loss - and the nation took notice. It's a long season, folks! (20%, 44 Votes)

What do you take from CU's 76-68 loss to Oregon State?
  • That it's going to be a long season, with ups and downs. The Buffs are an NCAA tournament team, but can't take any nights off if they want to get where they want to go (40%, 120 Votes)
  • All I know is that the Buffs are going to have a long week of practice, and will/should/better be ready for Utah at home next weekend (31%, 93 Votes)
  • It really is true: "CU is not allowed to have nice things". Tad Boyle can coach teams to 20-win seasons, but the Buffs will never be an elite team under Boyle (29%, 86 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
