University of Colorado announcement: Summer sessions through July 31st to remain online. Thoughts?
- Not a shock, and I wouldn't be surprised if the online requirement is extended through August (and perhaps beyond). Fans need to be wrapping their heads around not having football in 2020 (48%, 95 Votes)
- My concern: If other schools (and conferences) allow students (and student athletes) back on campus before CU, the Dorrell coaching staff will be at an even greater disadvantage when play begins (41%, 81 Votes)
- Well, if teams need six weeks of practice to get ready, and the campus is closed until (at least) August 1st, there goes (at least for now) the first 2 games (CSU; Fresno State) of the 2020 season. (11%, 20 Votes)
Start Date: April 29, 2020 @ 5:13 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Karl Dorrell & CO. pick up their the first commitment from the Recruiting Class of 2021. Thoughts?
- Fairly excited. Baugh did have some offers from other Power-Five schools ... and I'm glad that this coaching staff is finally on the board in obtaining its first commitment (47%, 110 Votes)
- Not super excited. Not even rated by either of the recruiting services. All due respect to Mr. Baugh, but Tucker & Co. went after four-star prospects ... not unrated projects (28%, 65 Votes)
- Very excited. A quality player from a quality school (state champion in Florida). Glad to have Allan Baugh on board! (25%, 59 Votes)
Start Date: April 28, 2020 @ 5:42 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Would you rate CU as a "winner" or a "loser" in the 2020 NFL Draft?
- Somewhere in between. Disappointed that Laviska Shenault wasn't a first round pick, but having Arlington Hambright picked up in the seventh round was an unexpected bonus. (56%, 126 Votes)
- A "Winner". Colorado had as many or more draft picks than all but two Pac-12 schools, and had three other players sign as undrafted free agents. A good weekend for the Buffs! (38%, 87 Votes)
- A "Loser". The draft once again highlighted how far CU has fallen from being a national power. CU hasn't had a first-rounder since 2011, and hasn't had a QB drafted since 1997 (6%, 13 Votes)
Start Date: April 27, 2020 @ 5:55 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Which of the CU free agents do you think will be the most likely to be the next Phillip Lindsay (or at least make the team)?
- Wide Receiver Tony Brown (Cleveland Browns) ... Brown was a clutch receiver for the Buffs, and that will prove to be a quality that will impress at the next level (61%, 164 Votes)
- Cornerback Delrick Abrams, Jr. (Atlanta Falcons) ... CU has produced quality cornerbacks in the past, and Abrams will do the Buffs proud (31%, 84 Votes)
- Quarterback Steven Montez (Washington Redskins) ... With some NFL coaching, Montez could take his physical attributes and good coaching, and combine them into an NFL career (8%, 19 Votes)
Start Date: April 26, 2020 @ 6:01 pm
End Date: No Expiry
CU finishes with three players drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. Thoughts?
- It can't be a bad draft when only Utah and Oregon had more picks from the Pac-12, with CU having more picks than USC (2), Washington (2), Stanford (2) - plus Nebraska (2) and CSU (0) (48%, 109 Votes)
- A good draft. It would have been nice to see Viska go in the first round, but happy that Taylor (limited game experience) and Hambright (one year in Boulder) were able to join the NFL as Buffs (31%, 70 Votes)
- Too bad Shenault didn't escape injury and go as CU's first first-rounder since 2011, and I find it telling that all 32 NFL teams took a pass on Steven Montez (21%, 50 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
