WSU professor's research shows Colorado has best corona virus data in the Pac-12. Thoughts?
  • Doesn't really matter one way or the other. Getting a good "grade" on data sets isn't going to factor in when decisions are made about playing sports this fall (50%, 81 Votes)
  • Glad to see the state of Colorado with the slowest growth of the virus, along with the lowest hospitalizations in the conference. Good numbers for CU going forward (37%, 60 Votes)
  • With all that is going on in west coast states and Arizona, it's a pretty low bar to have the best statistics. Kinda like being the best ballerina in Galveston - not much competition (13%, 20 Votes)

Report: Pac-12 players threatening boycott this season if demands are not met. Thoughts?
  • Sigh ... I just wish that I could wake up tomorrow and find that the only sports issue being debated by CU fans is the question of who will be the starting quarterback against CSU on September 5th (47%, 107 Votes)
  • Some of the concerns which are being raised, including better COVID testing, are valid. Others, like 50/50 revenue sharing, are non-starters (28%, 65 Votes)
  • If these players don't want a free education and health care in exchange for their talents, there are others who will be happy to take their place (25%, 57 Votes)

If the SEC, Big 12 and ACC go with non-conference scheduling - what should the Pac-12 do in response?
  • Ignore the bluster altogether. The other conferences will - by necessity - soon have to follow the lead of the Pac-12 and Big Ten and abandon non-conference games for the 2020 season (61%, 123 Votes)
  • Stick to their guns, and prepare for a ten-game, conference only schedule (even if some of the games are played in the spring) (21%, 42 Votes)
  • Reconsider the cancellations of the non-conference games. It's not too late to prepare for a regular 12-game season (even if some of it is played in the spring) (18%, 37 Votes)

With Pac-12 non-conference games canceled, CU's schedule currently has Oregon as the first game, in Boulder, on September 26th. We will be watching CU v. Oregon on that day?
  • No, because I can't see a way for collegiate athletics to take place in 2020. I am hopeful that there will be spring football, but I'm not even sure about that right now (48%, 103 Votes)
  • No, because the schedule will be rearranged. The Buffs will play the Ducks this fall, but it won't necessarily be on September 26th (27%, 58 Votes)
  • Yes. Baseball is starting up this week, with the NBA, NHL and NFL soon to follow. Collegiate athletic departments can't live without football, so there will be football (25%, 55 Votes)

Which of the three most recent recruits has you most excited?
  • Four-star forward Quincy Allen - I understand it's early, but with Allen and Lawson Lovering, CU currently has the No. 6 Recruiting Class in the nation. Well done, Tad & Co.! (58%, 136 Votes)
  • Defensive lineman Tyas Martin - I don't know much about rating recruits, but I do know that a 6'3", 318-pound high school senior is a large young man, and his offer sheet reflects his talent (36%, 83 Votes)
  • Defensive back Tyrin Taylor - A 6'2" versatile defensive back? A commit in a position of need is very welcome. A "long corner" is a necessity in today's college game (6%, 14 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
