As Coach Sanders enters his first full weekend as the head coach at CU, what do you see as his top priority?
- Picking up some commitments from the Transfer Portal. If CU is to be competitive in 2023, it's not going to be because of the coaches or the freshmen. Momentum will build if there a few stars sign on (73%, 254 Votes)
- Picking up some commitments from the Recruiting Class of 2023. Coach Prime needs to strike while the iron is hot, and make up for the ten de-commitments from the past week (15%, 53 Votes)
- Filing out the coaching staff (hopefully with a coach or two who has experience recruiting in California and Texas). Recruits and transfers need to know who their position coaches will be (12%, 43 Votes)

It appears that over half of Coach Sanders' assistant coach staff will be coming from the FCS and Group of Five levels. Thoughts?
- I don't care. What matters to me is that he has several head coaches on his staff, which will help Coach Prime adjust to being a head coach at the Power Five level. In Prime we Trust! (66%, 264 Votes)
- I trust Sanders, but I am concerned that there are few assistants with experience recruiting in Texas and California. I know he wants CU to be nationally relevant, but you can't abandon your base (19%, 74 Votes)
- I would have preferred if there were assistants with more P5 experience. The one question which people have about Coach Prime is his ability to coach at this level, and experienced coaches would help (15%, 60 Votes)

Reports: CU to hire Sean Lewis as its next offensive coordinator; Charles Kelly as its next defensive coordinator. Thoughts?
- Until further notice, it's "In Coach Prime we trust". It sounds like Sanders can recruit top notch coordinators; up next are quality assistants and top-rated recruits! (49%, 221 Votes)
- Lewis' job in 2022 was as head coach at Kent State; Kelly was the associate defensive coordinator at Alabama. Every day it's another "I can't believe this is happening at CU" moment! (48%, 213 Votes)
- It doesn't sound like either has coached - or recruited - in Texas or California, which are vital hotbeds for getting talent to CU. Here's hoping their coaching skills will offset their recruiting (3%, 13 Votes)
Start Date: December 7, 2022 @ 5:37 pm

So far, nine commitments from the CU Recruiting Class of 2023 (out of a Class of 20) have decommitted. Thoughts?
- Coach Prime said he was coming in and cleaning house, and he meant it. The quality of players CU has able to sign is not good enough to compete at the P5 level. It may sound harsh, but it's reality (57%, 300 Votes)
- The reality is that new coaching staffs across the nation are letting recruits go. These recruits have known for two months a new coach was coming to, so they knew this might happen (37%, 196 Votes)
- These players made a commitment to the University of Colorado, and are being summarily dismissed, with only a few weeks before Signing Day to find a new home. They should have been given a chance (6%, 34 Votes)
Start Date: December 6, 2022 @ 6:11 pm
End Date: No Expiry
It's all important, but which to you is the MOST important off-season task for Coach Prime between now and the start of spring practices?
- Winning the Transfer Portal. High school recruits are important for the long term, but the future is now. It's not enough to get interest from transfers, he needs to land them (74%, 368 Votes)
- Hiring the right assistant coaches. Yes, it's about the Jimmie's and the Joe's, but in order to overcome the fear that Coach Prime isn't ready for this level, he needs quality assistants (19%, 97 Votes)
- The Recruiting Class of 2023. There are still spots to be filled, with uncommitted prospects to convince, and committed prospects to flip. National perception of CU goes as Sanders' recruiting goes (7%, 34 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
