College Football's Stats Guru Bill Connelly doesn't know what to do with CU's SP+ projections. Thoughts?
- Makes some sense. When returning production and recent history are two of your metrics, the "conundrum" of CU is understandable. I look forward to "The Rise" of CU in the SP+ rankings (39%, 48 Votes)
- It just goes to show that preseason projections are rarely worth the paper they are written on. Coach Prime has torn up the script, so prognosticators should just take the summer off (38%, 47 Votes)
- At least Connelly acknowledges that CU will likely finish the season in the 40-70 range in his formulae. Why doesn't he just admit his system is fatally flawed and junk it? (23%, 28 Votes)

Should the Pac-12 follow the ACC's lead and adopt a revenue distribution model which rewards post-season success?
- No. CU fans will remember the unequal distributions allowed to Texas in the old Big 12. Such a move helps to divide a league, not unite it (50%, 95 Votes)
- I guess I am more in favor of it now than I was six months ago, as CU is much closer to caring about the post-season than it was before Coach Prime (27%, 51 Votes)
- Yes. If it will help keep the Pac-12 in tact, giving some extra dollars for better performance makes sense (and it might help keep Oregon and Washington in the league) (23%, 45 Votes)

The Athletic is projecting that CU may have two 10:00 a.m. (MT) games to open the 2023 season. Thoughts?
- Well, we already know that the TCU "Big Noon Saturday" game will be at 10:00 a.m., MT. Having back-to-back nationally televised games will be good for recruiting, so I'm in! (50%, 107 Votes)
- Not a fan. Yes, we did have a few early Thanksgiving Friday games against the Cornhuskers back in the day, but this game deserves a 1:30 or 5:30 kickoff. How raucous can we be at 10:00 a.m.? (25%, 54 Votes)
- CU can use fall practices to get ready for early games, while Nebraska's first game is a night game (at Minnesota). If that creates an advantage for my Buffs ... Let's do it! (25%, 51 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from senior defensive end Khairi Manns from Maine. Thoughts?
- Manns has plenty to prove to the college football world. CU is bringing in plenty of talented players where this is a common theme. I like getting players with a chip on their shoulder (48%, 117 Votes)
- I'm not really a fan of this one. CU is down to its last 7-8 scholarships. Is an unranked defensive end from the Colonial Athletic Conference the best option? I was hoping for a bigger splash (30%, 72 Votes)
- Like it! CU was dead last in the nation in sacks last season, so any help the Buff coaches can find to aid the pass rush is okay with me. In Coach Prime we trust! (22%, 54 Votes)

What do you like best about the potential starting lineup on defense for the 2023 campaign?
- That the influx of defensive line recruits (nine since the Spring Game) has helped turn the front of the defense from a huge concern to a potential strength (41%, 80 Votes)
- That other than Travis Hunter and Cormani McClain, all of the projected starters are upperclassmen (and I can live with having that pair of shutdown corners take the field as underclassmen) (35%, 68 Votes)
- That there are pass rushers aplenty in the front seven, some of whom had more sacks in the past year than CU posted as a team in 2022 (9 - dead last in the nation) (24%, 49 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
