On3.com has Coach Prime rated as the No. 7 coach in the Pac-12. Where would rate Coach Prime?
  • About the same. There are some very good coaches in the Pac-12. Coach Prime will be ranked higher in years to come, but for now, No. 7 sounds about right (55%, 122 Votes)
  • Higher. Coach Prime was 27-6 at Jackson State, a program which went 18-37 in the previous five years. He's comin'! (34%, 74 Votes)
  • Lower. I have high hopes for CU under Coach Prime, but critics note that he has yet to coach against Power Five competition. He'll have to earn a higher ranking (11%, 24 Votes)

ESPN: "It Just FEELS like Colorado State should be good at football". Thoughts?
  • I just think it's funny that ESPN would note that it "FEELS" like CSU should be good. That's just an acknowledgement that CSU hasn't been good ... and isn't likely to be good anytime soon (34%, 60 Votes)
  • It's actually a true statement. CU has a new stadium, a research university, and a fan base on par with other Mountain West schools. No reason the Rams should be this bad (33%, 58 Votes)
  • It's a fallacy. The sold the fans (and the donors) that if they had an on campus stadium, all would be well. It didn't happen, and now the CSU athletic department has big bills to pay, but no cash (33%, 56 Votes)

What is your interest in all of the national media attention which has been paid to the Colorado program?
  • High. There have been more stories (at least positive ones) in the past few months than there has been in the past decade. I'm loving every minute of it! (72%, 184 Votes)
  • Medium. It's great that CU is getting some positively publicity, and I certainly hope that it will pay off in helping CU land a highly rated Recruiting Class of 2024 (20%, 50 Votes)
  • Low. Until CU takes to the field on Sept. 2nd, this is still a program trying to rebuild. Off season stories are just filler, so Buff fans need to pump the brakes - don't get caught up in the hype (8%, 21 Votes)

Your thoughts on the Pac-12 signing a media rights deal which is heavy on streaming with Apple and/or Amazon?
  • It depends on the deal. If there is still plenty of content on the networks (particularly ESPN), then having some streaming options would be acceptable. If its primarily streaming, I would pass (58%, 136 Votes)
  • I like it. Streaming is the wave of the future, and the Pac-12 is in need of significant infusion of dollars if the conference is to stay alive. Get it done, Commissioner Kliavkoff! (23%, 53 Votes)
  • Not a fan. Remember when the Pac-12 was on the "cutting edge" by keeping all of the rights to the Pac-12 Network? How well did that work out? This is not the time for the Pac-12 to make a mistake (19%, 44 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from The Athletic article on CU Class of 2024 do you like the best?
  • O'Neil on Coach Prime: "Just being around him and knowing his connections were great, but he has a need to win. That’s the big sell for me. It’s a need to win, not a want to" (52%, 76 Votes)
  • Danny O'Neil: "I want to bring in guys who can play. Nothing was promised to me. It wasn’t. I’m going to come in and compete and try to lead this team in two years" (31%, 45 Votes)
  • 247 analyst Allen Trieu on O'Neil: "They’re valuing his intangibles. They’re valuing the locker room product and the kind of pedigree that he comes from and, of course, the high school production" (17%, 25 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
