Looking at the CU roster, and the 17 scholarships Coach Prime has to offer, what is the most glaring need?
- Defensive line. Some quality transfers have been brought in, but this unit remains woefully thin. It won't matter how many quality DB's CU has if every opponent can run the ball at will (41%, 96 Votes)
- Offensive line. With defections of two of last years starters, there is a need to bolster this group - the weakest link on the offense (31%, 72 Votes)
- Backup quarterback. I understand CU is looking for a unicorn - a quality quarterback willing to sit behind Shedeur Sanders - but having two true freshmen as your backups is untenable (26%, 60 Votes)
- Linebackers. The two starters - and two of the best defenders - graduated. CU has a great deal of unproven talent in this unit. Help wanted sign is up! (2%, 7 Votes)

CU picks up a commitment from Marshall wide receiver EJ Horton. Thoughts?
- I'm happy to welcome anyone the Coach Prime staff brings in, but every new skill position player signed is another lost scholarship which could have been used on a lineman (41%, 104 Votes)
- Offers in the Transfer Portal from BYU, Cal and Ole Miss, and a track star (7.01 in the 60). Very excited about this commitment. Welcome, Mr. Horton!! (32%, 80 Votes)
- A two-star prospect out of high school with offers from Alabama State and Kent State. I'm calling it - this is a reach, and is not a better receiver than many of the receivers CU lost in the Portal (27%, 69 Votes)

CBS Sports post-spring Top 25 includes seven CU opponents. Thoughts?
- I'm trusting/hoping that, as is usually the case, teams which look great on paper in the spring don't pan out ... which would give CU a fighting chance at taking down one or more of the seven teams (43%, 107 Votes)
- The 1-11 CU team would have no shot at winning those games (or most of the others), but the 2023 CU team is being completely rebuilt. Underestimate Coach Prime at your own risk! (29%, 71 Votes)
- This is why it's important to pump the brakes on expectations. Unless a CU is ready to beat a ranked team, the Buffs would have to win every other game just to get to 5-7 (28%, 70 Votes)
Start Date: May 3, 2023 @ 4:42 pm

CU's Tuesday commitment: Defensive end - and former five-star recruit - Sav'ell Smalls. Thoughts?
- I just love this roll out. Pretty much every day since the Spring Game, CU has received a commitment from a player who would have been a headliner for any other CU Recruiting Class (37%, 137 Votes)
- I like the pick up, to be sure, but I guess we'll see why Smalls didn't live up to his five-star billing playing for the Huskies. Fingers crossed Smalls is the real deal (35%, 131 Votes)
- Boom! CU's biggest need is along the defensive line, and Smalls was rated as the No. 30 overall prospect in the nation from the Recruiting Class of 2020. A great day to be a Buff fan! (28%, 103 Votes)
Start Date: May 2, 2023 @ 4:46 pm

CU picks up two four-star commitments on Monday - defensive back Omarion Cooper and wide receiver Tar'varish Dawson. Thoughts?
- Two four-star recruits from SEC schools, both with two dozen Power Five offers out of high school? Yes, please! Coach Prime said they were comin', and he's right! (58%, 185 Votes)
- Not to look two gift horses in the mouth, but these are two more skill position players. I'll be much more comfortable when CU signs a few offensive and defensive linemen (32%, 101 Votes)
- Cooper played in 20 games at Florida State (starting seven), while Dawson barely saw the field at Auburn. Happy about both - expecting we'll get more playing time out of Cooper (10%, 32 Votes)
Start Date: May 1, 2023 @ 4:54 pm

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
