Dan Patrick: "What if [Deion] goes 0-5? And he might. But that doesn’t mean that he won’t be successful”. Thoughts?
  • I'm just enjoying CU being a part of the national narrative on a daily basis. You can't please everyone, so just ignore the noise and enjoy the ride! (62%, 157 Votes)
  • I guess I must have missed out on "The Rise" in Ft. Collins. But the fact remains that CU has three ten-win teams and Nebraska in the first five games. A 1-4 start is not out of the question (26%, 67 Votes)
  • What a joke! Yes, CU has to play TCU, Oregon and USC in the first month, but 0-5? Anyone who says "hey, they were 1-11 last year" has no clue about the 2023 Buff roster (12%, 29 Votes)

What do you like best about the potential starting lineup on offense for the 2023 Buffs?
  • A no-brainer: having a quarterback with legitimate NFL aspirations in Shedeur Sanders. Last year, CU started four different QB's - none are even on a Power Five team this fall. 'Nuff said (52%, 129 Votes)
  • Quality depth along the offensive line. CU may not have the best set of starters in the conference, but it is miles ahead of what CU had last season, and that is going to make a huge difference (25%, 61 Votes)
  • Skill position talent. Four-star wide receivers and four-star running backs aplenty. I can't wait for Sanders & Co. to show how well they can run the fast-paced Sean Lewis offense (23%, 56 Votes)

The Pac-12 will be having in-game coach interviews and halftime locker room cameras. Thoughts?
  • Not a fan. If you have seen the 30-second useless "interviews" with coaches as they walk off the field at halftime, you know how little value "in-game" interviews will have in the heat of battle (49%, 101 Votes)
  • I like that this will give Coach Prime and some of his media savvy players get some more air time. This will only help CU and its efforts to stay on the national stage (44%, 91 Votes)
  • I like it. Expanding the fan experience will help expand the game, and will help fans understand how games are unfolding in real time. A smart move (7%, 16 Votes)

What's been the best news so far in this busy week for CU and its fans?
  • That CU received a commitment from Houston transfer running back Alton McCaskill. The running back room needed a strong, experienced back ... and they got one! (67%, 197 Votes)
  • That CU received a commitment from four-star athlete Aaron Butler ... one of the highest-rated high school recruit in school history! (20%, 58 Votes)
  • That Fox Sports has announced that the CU opener at TCU will be a part of its "Big Noon Saturday" production. Not bad for a 1-11 team! (13%, 37 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from Recruiting Class of 2024 four-star athlete Aaron Butler. Thoughts?
  • I love this commit, but: a) It's a long time between now and Signing Day in December; and b) Butler has already flipped once before (he was a USC commit in January). Fingers crossed he sticks (42%, 128 Votes)
  • The next Travis Hunter? Or perhaps the next Cormani McClain? A top ten California recruit, Butler would be the 13th-highest rated CU signee in the past 20 years! Welcome, Mr. Butler! (41%, 125 Votes)
  • Hate to sound ungrateful, but CU can only play so many cornerbacks/wide receivers at a time. Love this four-star commit - would really love to get a four-star offensive lineman (17%, 54 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
