What record for CU this fall would put Coach Prime on the "hot seat?'
  • I don't the record will come into play. I'm foreseeing Coach Prime leaving on his own terms - whether due his health, or just his because he's tired of coaching and wants to go watch Shedeur play (41%, 40 Votes)
  • None. Coach Prime is: a) a much better option than anyone else CU could bring in; and/or b) CU can't afford Coach Prime's $10 million buyout (38%, 37 Votes)
  • Another 3-9 record, or even a 4-8 record. If there is not recognizable improvement this year, the new Athletic Director may start looking around for the next CU head coach (21%, 21 Votes)

Shedeur Sanders becomes the second CU quarterback to be named to the NFL Pro Bowl. Thoughts?
  • Fine, but let's be honest here. Several of the Pro Bowl quarterbacks ahead of Sanders are either injured ... or just not interested. Fine for Shedeur's resume, but he's not a Pro Bowl quarterback (60%, 98 Votes)
  • Works for me. If we have to live in a world when CU recruits like Christian Gonzalez and Jordan Seaton get to be fist round draft picks for other schools, CU can take this win (30%, 50 Votes)
  • From a national punchline at Signing Day to a third-string quarterback on the depth chart ... to year-end starter, Pro Bowl quarterback, and presumptive starter for the 2026 season. Nice (10%, 16 Votes)

Coach Prime institutes penalties for breaking team rules - and makes national news in doing so. Thoughts?
  • Nothing to see here. I have no issue with players who are making six- or seven-figure salaries being held accountable (and ditching their old school's shirts). Hope it gets the players' attention (46%, 65 Votes)
  • Nothing to see here, because this wouldn't be national news if it wasn't a Coach Prime story. Anything that will help to paint CU in a negative light gets posted. Shrug shoulders and move on (41%, 58 Votes)
  • Nothing to see here - or, better stated, there shouldn't be anything to see here. Does this mean that Coach Prime wasn't fining players for missing meetings last year? Lame, if true (13%, 19 Votes)

Two transfer Buffs make the ESPN list of Top 100 players of the 2025 season. Thoughts?
  • This tells me that CU has a good linebacker - the weakest position on the team last year - and another potential star at wide receiver. Excited about the possibilities for the season (but wary) (55%, 63 Votes)
  • This tells me that CU's coaching staff did a very poor job of coaching in 2025. Nice two quality G6 players are coming to CU, but no Buffs were in the top 100 nationally? Sad (23%, 26 Votes)
  • This tells me that CU's Transfer Portal Class is better than what CU is being given credit for. A Bowling Green linebacker? A San Jose State wide receiver? Nice - glad these two will be Buffs in 2026 (22%, 25 Votes)

ESPN: CU has one of the Top 25 Transfer Portal lists. Thoughts?
  • What's not being discussed enough is that CU first focused on bringing in players with production at positions of need, then signed higher profile talent to fill out the roster. Like the plan (54%, 81 Votes)
  • Fine, but it's probably a volume thing. CU is bringing in so many players every year (and that's not a good thing). Not seeing any real star power here to make me believe the Buffs will improve (32%, 48 Votes)
  • Nice. Buff fans have been focused too much on the losses (Omarion Miller; Jordan Seaton), and not focused on the quality list of transfers the Buff coaches are bringing in. Bring on spring practices! (14%, 20 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
