The stat from Saturday which has me most concerned ...
  • CU went 0-for-15 on third downs, setting a new school record for futility (45%, 120 Votes)
  • Buffs had four red zone opportunities, but came away with no TD's and three FG's (31%, 82 Votes)
  • None of the above. CU is 2-2, and I'm seeing more positives with each game (13%, 36 Votes)
  • Buffs gave up 755 yards, the 2nd-highest total in school history (11%, 30 Votes)

My level of enthusiasm for CU football 1/3 of the way through the season
  • About the same as before. Buffs have improved in some areas, but not in others (55%, 117 Votes)
  • Much higher than in the offseason. Buffs have exceeded expectations ... and last year's win total (40%, 85 Votes)
  • Lower than before. Buffs gave up 755 yards for only the 2nd time in history. CU is no better than before (5%, 9 Votes)

Start Date: October 6, 2013 @ 7:12 pm

What I am taking from the 57-16 loss to Oregon ...
  • That Colorado held its own for most of the first half. Despite the final score, that is something to build on (54%, 130 Votes)
  • That the Buffs have given up 1,300 yards and 101 points in two Pac-12 games. It's going to be a tough October and November (26%, 63 Votes)
  • That the Ducks have a very good shot at going 14-0 this season (20%, 48 Votes)

Start Date: October 5, 2013 @ 7:45 pm
End Date: No Expiry

My pick for the Pac-12 straight up upset of the day ...
  • No. 22 Arizona State (+6) over Notre Dame (game to be played in Dallas) (59%, 54 Votes)
  • Colorado (+39) at home over No. 2 Oregon (20%, 18 Votes)
  • California (+1.5) at home over Washington State (12%, 11 Votes)
  • No. 15 Washington (+8) on the road over No. 5 Stanford (9%, 9 Votes)

Start Date: October 5, 2013 @ 7:49 am
End Date: No Expiry

Which of these results would impress you the most Saturday?
  • Buffs hold Oregon under 50 points (no one has done that yet this season) (50%, 106 Votes)
  • Buffs score over 20 points (no one has done that yet this season) (39%, 83 Votes)
  • CU special teams keep Ducks from posting any long returns (none over 20 yards) (11%, 22 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
