UCLA 27, Colorado 23. Thoughts?
  • The next two games (Arizona; at Oregon State) are winnable. Let's withhold judgment on the 2017 Buffs for two more weeks (54%, 152 Votes)
  • The Buffs were out-played and out-coached. CU will be lucky to make a bowl game (32%, 89 Votes)
  • This team showed heart, and made plays on both sides of the ball. Actually, it was the most complete game of the season (14%, 41 Votes)

It's time - Your prediction for Colorado at UCLA
  • Buffs will finally be focused, and put together a complete game. CU in an upset! (54%, 127 Votes)
  • Until the Buffs prove otherwise, this is not a Top 25 team. I foresee UCLA pulling away as Buffs can't keep up offensively (33%, 77 Votes)
  • CU keeps it close, but Bruins avoid the upset with a single-score victory (13%, 32 Votes)

No. 5 USC (-3.5) at No. 16 Wash. St. (Fri., 8:30 p.m., MT, ESPN)
  • USC ... Trojans showing they can take on all challengers, while WSU has played four easy games (58%, 156 Votes)
  • Washington State ... Cougars are at home, and have had (basically) the entire month to prepare for this game (31%, 83 Votes)
  • Too hard to pick / Not interested / Not yet on my radar since CU won't play either for a month (11%, 30 Votes)

Start Date: September 28, 2017 @ 6:25 pm

What is CU's biggest advantage vs. UCLA?
  • The Buffs' offense is going against a terrible defense ... with something to prove (41%, 113 Votes)
  • None that I can see. It looks like the Bruins are rightfully favored to win this game (23%, 63 Votes)
  • The Buffs' defense is the best the Bruins have faced, and will surprise/frustrate the Bruins (23%, 62 Votes)
  • Actually, going on the road. All football, no distractions. Buffs (finally) find their focus (13%, 36 Votes)

Start Date: September 27, 2017 @ 7:51 pm

Most interesting Mike MacIntyre press conference quote:
  • "If (CU and Washington) are even on turnovers – they're going to win, bottom line. If you reverse it (3-1 in CU's favor), we would have won, I really believe that" (58%, 122 Votes)
  • "If you want to be successful in anything in life, it's the attention to the little details" (35%, 73 Votes)
  • "(UCLA) is very talented. I think they're averaging 100 points a game right now" (7%, 16 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
