CU receives a commitment from Recruiting Class of 2020 athlete Chris Carpenter. Thoughts?
- Very excited about this commitment. A speedster who plays on both sides of the ball, Carpenter will be a great addition to the defensive backfield for the Buffs (48%, 122 Votes)
- Somewhat excited. The list of Power-Five offers include Oregon, Arizona State and Oklahoma State. This appears to be a bona-fide talent coming to Boulder (46%, 116 Votes)
- Not super excited. Carpenter's previous commitment was to North Texas. I trust the coaches, but it still seems like an "up-and-comer" recruit, rather than a consensus star-in-the-making (6%, 14 Votes)

What recent news to you is the most significant?
- The football team has reported for summer conditioning. The Recruiting Class of 2019 has arrived in Boulder for summer conditioning. Time for Phase III to begin!! (33%, 88 Votes)
- College Football Hall of Fame nominations for Bieniemy, Salaam, and Westbrook. Nice to see that CU has as many nominees as USC, and more than any other Pac-12 school (26%, 68 Votes)
- The two new defensive backs - Mikail Onu for 2019 and Chris Carpenter for 2020 and beyond. Quality recruits in an area of need (21%, 55 Votes)
- The home-and-home announcements v. Kansas (MBB) and CSU (FB). Tad Boyle is setting up his team for an NCAA run, and CSU (in the future) keeps the rivalry alive (20%, 54 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from graduate transfer defensive back Mikial Onu. Thoughts?
- Great news! A solid player (led the Mustangs in tackles in 2017) in a position of great need. I love how Tucker & Co. are plugging the holes in the Buff lineup (61%, 161 Votes)
- It sounds good, but with an 85-man limit, there's another one out for another one in. Let's see if Onu is an upgrade from the scholarship player who leaves between now and August 1st (24%, 63 Votes)
- To be determined. Onu was limited in 2018 by a sports hernia. We'll have to wait and see if he is fully recovered to 2017 abilities before celebrating this commit (15%, 41 Votes)
Start Date: June 2, 2019 @ 6:07 pm
End Date: No Expiry
What do you make of Lindy's predictions for the Pac-12 this fall?
- Nothing new here, with CU getting little positive attention, though I do appreciate that at least Folsom Field and Ralphie were recognized (46%, 69 Votes)
- I do appreciate the "Colorado could surprise as a result of its experience" quote. At least Lindy's is making an allowance that the Buffs have more to offer than meets the eye (39%, 59 Votes)
- Safe. Picking Oregon and Utah to win their respective divisions ... and CU to finish sixth, again. Not much to see here (15%, 23 Votes)
Start Date: June 1, 2019 @ 5:20 pm
End Date: No Expiry
What about the Air Force game on September 14th worries you the most?
- That the Buffs have to face a unique and disciplined offense a week after an emotional and physical game against Nebraska (41%, 71 Votes)
- That the Falcons are bringing the 3rd-best rushing offense to Boulder, with a senior quarterback, a 1000-yard rusher, and four returning starters along the offensive line (30%, 53 Votes)
- Nothing. If the Buffs are worried about this game, then it is going to be a verrrry long season. CU should dominate this game from the opening kickoff, never looking back (29%, 50 Votes)

Stuart:
I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
