CU will take on Arizona in the Pac-12 home opener for Mel Tucker. Thoughts?
- I'm glad the game is at home. As the "easiest" Pac-12 home game (USC, Stanford, Washington being the others), all I know is that the Buffs BETTER win this game! (51%, 90 Votes)
- I see this as a "W". Even with Kahlil Tate going off the past two games against CU, the Buffs were close. With the new coaching staff, the Buffs will find a way to win (28%, 50 Votes)
- Let's see ... Tate ran for 327 yards and four touchdowns in 2017, then threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns last year. Tate plays like a Heisman candidate against CU, so I'm wary of this game (21%, 38 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from defensive back Gavin Holmes from Louisiana. Thoughts?
- Like it. A speedy (4.32 in the 40) prospect in an area of need. As they say, you can't teach speed (39%, 102 Votes)
- Guess we should be glad that 247 Sports made him a three-star prospect the day after he committed. In Tuck We Trust! (32%, 84 Votes)
- Guarded optimism ... very guarded. At the time of his commitment, Holmes was not rated by either service, and only had offers from FCS teams and Louisiana directional schools. Not super impressed. (29%, 78 Votes)

Which of the following athletic Hall of Fame inductees do you like best?
- Brian Cabral - A great linebacker for CU and the NFL, Cabral also has the distinction of serving as the longest-tenured assistant coach in CU history (36%, 97 Votes)
- Jenny (Barringer) Simpson - An NCAA champion and Olympic medalist, Jenny has been a great ambassador for CU athletics (32%, 86 Votes)
- Gary Barnett - A coach on CU's national championship team, and the head coach for CU's Big 12 title, Barnett is a very deserving honoree (23%, 64 Votes)
- Barry Helton - The first of two Buffs to be named to three All-American teams (Kanavis McGhee being the other), Helton's recognition is past due (9%, 26 Votes)

Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos to Cornhusker fans: “I just want you around Boulder, raising hell for those guys”
- I just hope that the CU coaches and administrators read this, and put this "bulletin board" material where Buff players and fans can see it, and use it as motivation on September 7th (51%, 143 Votes)
- Like it. For a school which doesn't consider Colorado to be a "rival", the Cornhuskers spend a great deal of time fussing over the Buffs and the games between the two schools (37%, 102 Votes)
- Don't like it. There have been run-ins between fans of the two schools in the past, and an athletic director should know better than to try and stir that pot (12%, 34 Votes)

Daily Camera: "Duty of every CU fan to reflect on whether they can continue to enjoy watching students engaged in violence as entertainment". Thoughts?
- Absurd. I don't know which disgusts me more: Linda Shoemaker's self-promotion of her anti-football cause, or the Daily Camera giving her a platform (66%, 217 Votes)
- While the message may be skewed by politics, the underlying concern is valid - We all need to pushing for as much safety as possible in the game (22%, 72 Votes)
- All I know - You could offer newspapers in Lincoln and Tuscaloosa ten thousand dollars to run this story ... and get no takers (12%, 42 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
