Which of the following Mel Tucker quotes from a recent Daily Camera article do you like best:
  • "I’ve been there. I have rings. I have championships. I know what it takes. I know what he process is. I know what it feels like" (63%, 147 Votes)
  • “You have a plan, you work the plan, and you plan for the unexpected. When there’s kinks that come up, you iron them out" (23%, 53 Votes)
  • “After going through the nine weeks of strength and conditioning and spring ball, I have a great feel for my staff and I feel really good about them" (14%, 34 Votes)

Are you drinking the CU Kool-Aid this off-season?
  • Yes!! Mel Tucker & Co. have me sold. Coach Tucker carries himself with great confidence, and it is carrying over to the team. Buffs will surprise this fall! (47%, 135 Votes)
  • No. Sorry, but until we see it on the field, CU remains the last place team in the Pac-12 South. Prove it with "W's", and I'll be a believer (27%, 78 Votes)
  • Yes, but only because everyone is optimistic this time of year. Everyone's undefeated in June, and CU is no different (26%, 74 Votes)

CU picks up a commitment from three-star defensive end Alvin Williams. Thoughts?
  • Like it. He has decent size (6'3", 225-pounds) and a decent offer sheet, with offers from schools like Michigan State, Kansas State and Louisville. No down side that I can see (49%, 117 Votes)
  • Love it! CU needs DE/OLB's, and Williams looks like a keeper! He may not be Alfred Williams, but he's an Al Williams - if he's anywhere close to the old one, we'll love this guy! (43%, 103 Votes)
  • We'll see. The offer sheet didn't include Georgia or Georgia Tech. My concern is that if Williams gets an offer from a more local Power-Five school, he will change his commitment (8%, 20 Votes)

Buffs taking on the Ducks under the Friday Night Lights of Autzen on October 11th. How would you rate CU's chances?
  • Medium. The Ducks have their rivalry game against Washington the week after the CU game, so this is a look-ahead trap game for Oregon, and the Buffs are under-rated (48%, 109 Votes)
  • Low. If we're being honest, this is one of the games - at least for the 2019 season - that has to be marked down as an "L". On the road against a potential top ten team? I'm not seeing it (42%, 94 Votes)
  • High. The Buffs won the last time the two teams played, and that was the starting debut for Steven Montez. He'll enjoy going back to Eugene as a fifth-year senior (10%, 23 Votes)

Which quote of the day do you like best?
  • Mel Tucker: "This is a better football team, a better coached football team, better prepared football team than what we’ve seen in the past" (58%, 142 Votes)
  • Laviska Shenault: "It's strictly business. I feel like we’re going to take it and run with it, and we’re going to do big things" (32%, 78 Votes)
  • Transfer offensive lineman Arlington Hambright: "Wherever they need me is what matters. That's important — whatever it takes to win" (10%, 23 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
