CU ranks 89th in the nation (out of 136 teams) in returning production. Thoughts?
  • We're talking about Bill Connelly at ESPN, right? His metrics haven't been able to keep up with Coach Prime, so it's no surprise that he is off on CU again this year. Ignore and move on (57%, 73 Votes)
  • Makes sense, considering CU loses its quarterback and its top four wide receivers. It's up to the new quarterbacks and receivers to pick up the slack this fall (30%, 39 Votes)
  • While the offense has lost a great deal, CU is 66th in returning defensive production, which is much higher than in the first two seasons of the Coach Prime era, so I'm going to focus on the positive (13%, 16 Votes)

If you were advising Shedeur, would you recommend he work out at the NFL Combine and hire an agent?
  • No. The NFL teams have four years of film on Shedeur, and there is little to be gained by working out for NFL teams now. Talk with teams with high draft picks, and let your work speak for itself (44%, 54 Votes)
  • I'm okay with Shedeur not working out, but he should hire an agent. There are enough haters out there complaining Coach Prime is interfering too much with the process. This will only make it worse (40%, 49 Votes)
  • Yes. The No. 1 draft pick for an NFL team, especially at the quarterback position, can be the face of the team. Shedeur shouldn't enhance his image as a prima donna by getting special treatment (16%, 21 Votes)

For you, who is the most significant Transfer Portal addition to the CU roster to date?
  • QB Kaidon Salter (Liberty) ... The perfect fit. A QB with game experience, who can serve as the transition QB for Julian Lewis. A huge pickup - no transfer is more vital to the 2025 season (62%, 121 Votes)
  • DL Jehiem Oatis (Alabama) ... The No. 1 defensive Portal prospect, Oatis adds to an already strong defensive line. The Buffs can stay in games this fall based on a strong defensive line alone (27%, 52 Votes)
  • LB Reginald Hughes (Jacksonville State) ... No unit on the team was in more need of infusion of talent than the linebackers. If Hughes can be the new Nikhai Hill-Green, CU could have a great defense (11%, 22 Votes)

If you were Rick George for a day, would you swap out Georgia Tech for Georgia State the next two seasons?
  • I'd be opposed, and not just because Coach Mac said to be the best you have to beat the best. If CU wants to be a playoff team, strength of schedule matters. CU can't play fluffy schedules (55%, 86 Votes)
  • In a heartbeat. How many bowl games has CU been to in the last 20 years? Three? Give me three home games - and a 3-0 start - to every season. I'll take the heat for the weak schedule (29%, 45 Votes)
  • No. Just because Nebraska traded Tennessee for Bowling Green and Ohio doesn't mean CU should lower itself to buying its way out of wins like the hated Huskers (16%, 26 Votes)

Texas, USC, and Ohio State cancel Spring games. Thoughts?
  • I don't like this trend at all. College football fans go long enough without seeing their teams as it is. Want to build bonds with transfers and freshmen? Sorry, you'll have to wait until September (50%, 63 Votes)
  • I can understand it for Texas and Ohio State. Teams are playing 16+ games a season now - it makes sense to limit contact. But fear of losing players in the Portal seems overly paranoid (33%, 41 Votes)
  • I just don't want to live in a world where Nebraska's Matt Rhule might be considered as being ahead of the curve. Wouldn't mind this so much if the initial thoughts had originated elsewhere (17%, 22 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
