Which latest slam on the CU program to you is the most irritating?
  • CBS Dennis Dodd (on picking CU to finish 16th in the Big 12): "Coach Prime owned September last season before reality kicked in. I'm thinking twice about climbing on the Deion hype train again" (54%, 76 Votes)
  • CBS Jerry Palm's "bold prediction": "After another mediocre season, the Deion Sanders honeymoon -- if there still is one -- will be over. His seat will be on fire at the beginning of 2025" (33%, 47 Votes)
  • Wilner mockingly "quoting" Coach Prime on Wilner's coaching "heat index": "We respect the heat index. But we aren’t doing anything with the heat index. Next category" (13%, 19 Votes)

CU has the most expensive remaining home game tickets in the nation. Thoughts?
  • I'm just hoping that the remaining North Dakota State tickets get sold. It would be nice to keep Coach Prime's sold out streak in tact (48%, 93 Votes)
  • CU pricing is losing the Buffs some fans. Last year, every game was sold out. As of today, only two of six games are sold out. Cut the prices, Rick! (30%, 57 Votes)
  • It's relative. Many of the schools with expensive tickets have already sold out all of their games, so they don't have any "remaining home game tickets" to monitor. A slanted story (22%, 43 Votes)

OL Coach Phil Loadholt on line depth: "I feel good about six, seven, maybe eight right now, and trying to get that to 10". Thoughts?
  • Considering the fact that it is extremely rare that all five offensive linemen start all season, the fact there are (potentially) only one or two capable backups is a real concern (46%, 78 Votes)
  • I would hope for nothing less. Just over a week out from the start of the season, the worst unit on the team last season had better have some strength and depth, or the Buffs will be in trouble (41%, 70 Votes)
  • Sounds good. Considering where CU was with the offensive line last season, having a solid base of players ready to go this season is a very positive sign (13%, 22 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from defensive lineman BJ Green do you like the best?
  • “I pride myself on causing havoc and disruption. Playing sound ball, being able to give the same effort and relentless effort that people see in myself and I see in me" (46%, 76 Votes)
  • "The vision that they have for me is bigger than what I even could have imagined for myself. I trust their plan for me ... just working at that and getting closer and closer to that" (39%, 64 Votes)
  • Doesn't matter, since he has fallen from the No. 77 player in the nation to No. 128. Oh, wait. Those are CBS Sports' rankings. Here's going with Coach Prime saying Green's a first round Draft pick (15%, 24 Votes)

The College Football News has CU's opener finishing Colorado 34, North Dakota State 30. Thoughts?
  • I can see the Bison, with a month to prepare for their Super Bowl, keeping it close for a quarter or two, but CU's size and speed will allow the Buffs to take care of business in the second half (62%, 126 Votes)
  • This is the College Football News, the same publication which called CU it's "No. 1 Team Which Will Disappoint". Press "ignore" and move on (31%, 64 Votes)
  • A joke, right? Yes, North Dakota State is a very good FCS team, but an FCS team nonetheless. Next Thursday is going to a pleasurable evening - and a CU rout (7%, 14 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
