CU takes care of Utah, 67-55. Thoughts?
  • Great game. When Wright and King are on, the Buffs are a tough team to beat (55%, 119 Votes)
  • I'm just glad that the seven-game losing streak to Utah is over. That shouldn't happen ... ever (in any sport!) (37%, 79 Votes)
  • Nothing to see here. One mediocre team from a mediocre league beating another mediocre team from a mediocre league (8%, 18 Votes)

Buffs home against Utah. Thoughts?
  • I foresee a CU victory. Buffs bounced back from a three-game losing streak earlier to take out two ranked Arizona teams at home (65%, 90 Votes)
  • I'm not optimistic. CU has lost seven in a row to Utah, and the young team has lost its momentum (26%, 36 Votes)
  • Sorry, but it's February now, so I'm focusing on the Signing Day II next week, and the start of Spring practices on the 16th (9%, 13 Votes)

Should athletes be allowed to transfer if the coach leaves?
  • Yes. If coaches have freedom of movement, so too should the players (43%, 136 Votes)
  • Maybe ... if some limitations are still in place to allow for some continuity in the program changing coaches (33%, 106 Votes)
  • No. Players commit to schools, not to coaches. Making transfers easier would help big time programs late-blooming stars from lesser programs (24%, 78 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from offensive lineman Austin Johnson
  • Excellent news! One of the highest-rated players in the state, and certainly in a position of need (49%, 142 Votes)
  • Good news. I like the pipeline from Highlands Ranch, and Johnson looks like a quality recruit (43%, 123 Votes)
  • Not really news. Another three-star recruit ... what's that? 27-straight three-star recruits? (8%, 24 Votes)

College Football News has CU as a 6-6 team in 2018. Thoughts?
  • About right. This team has much to prove, and has tough road games on the schedule (44%, 138 Votes)
  • Not sure ... but this team had better be bowl eligible, or this program will be facing a very uncertain future (32%, 100 Votes)
  • Too low. With the new coaches and and quality recruits now taking the field. CU has at least 7-8 wins in store (24%, 77 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
