My favorite quote from Mike MacIntyre's press conference:
- I think they are kind of bonding on everybody calling them a failure last year ... they have decided to shut their mouths and work at it, and let the results on the field stand for it" (71%, 265 Votes)
- Linebacker Davion Taylor "is the fastest guy I've ever coached that's over 220-pounds" (19%, 71 Votes)
- Nose tackle Javier Edwards "is a lot quicker ... I think he can be a force inside" (10%, 35 Votes)

ESPN has CU going 6-6, 4-5, playing Iowa State in the Cheez-It Bowl
- Not a fan. This team will have a winning record well before the Buffs get to bowl season. Just more disrespect of where this team is going (34%, 109 Votes)
- Like it. A bowl bid is a minimum requirement for this team. After one bowl game in a decade - I'll take it (33%, 107 Votes)
- Don't mind the 6-6 prediction, or playing Iowa State, but does it have to be the "Cheez-It" bowl?? (33%, 106 Votes)

CSU falls, 43-34, to Hawai'i in 2018 season opener. Your takeaway ...
- Nervous. I hope the Buff players won't be over-confident, or they'll be shocked by the Rams the way the Rams were shocked by the Rainbow Warriors (55%, 217 Votes)
- Haven't thought about it. It will be 0-0 at 7:30 p.m. Friday. What happened in Ft. Collins on Saturday doesn't change that. (24%, 97 Votes)
- Excited. We knew the Lambs were going to be down this year, but this is confirmation. Buffs win RMS in a rout! (21%, 82 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from four-star JC inside linebacker, Jashua Allen
- Great news! A four-star prospect in a position of need (Gamboa and Lewis both seniors). This is exciting news! (70%, 231 Votes)
- I just hope the Buffs can hang on to this commitment. This could be a great Class - the Buffs now just need to win games and keep the Class together! (17%, 56 Votes)
- Glad to see it. A good offer sheet for a player listed as the No. 6 JC prospect in the nation (but no rating by Rivals?) (13%, 42 Votes)

One week out ... prediction for the 2018 Rocky Mountain Showdown
- Confident. The Buffs are more talented, and will pull away in the second half (55%, 162 Votes)
- Very confident. The Rams are down - I'm looking forward to a CU rout this year! (23%, 68 Votes)
- A little nervous. Rams always play their best game of the season against the Buffs. Hoping for a win (22%, 67 Votes)

Stuart:
I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
