Colorado will be Nebraska's first opponent after Nebraska/Akron game cancelled. Thoughts?
  • Advantage: Colorado. The Huskers are starting a true freshman at quarterback. It will help that he doesn't have a MAC tuneup before facing the Buffs (51%, 195 Votes)
  • Makes no difference either way. Once the game starts, football is football (35%, 134 Votes)
  • Advantage: Nebraska. The Huskers have game tape on the Buffs; the Buffs have nothing on Scott Frost's new team (14%, 51 Votes)

Which player impressed you the most in CU's opening win?
  • Laviska Shenault - His 211 yards receiving are just a sample of what he will produce this year (55%, 219 Votes)
  • Nate Landman - His 16 tackles are just a sample of what he will produce this year (25%, 99 Votes)
  • Steven Montez - Almost perfect from the field, Montez has become the leading man we've been waiting for him to become (20%, 79 Votes)

Buffs dominate Rams, 45-13, in 2018 season opener. Your reaction?
  • Fantastic game! Montez played well, with Laviska Shenault showing the world what he can (and will) do this fall (51%, 237 Votes)
  • A good win over a lousy CSU team. I'm still worried about how well the defense will play against quality offenses (33%, 154 Votes)
  • Whew!! I'll worry about the rest of the season tomorrow - I'm just glad that the Buffs put the Rams (and their fans) in their place. Four straight in the RMS! (16%, 73 Votes)

Start Date: August 31, 2018 @ 11:14 pm
End Date: No Expiry

It's time ... Your prediction for the 2018 Rocky Mountain Showdown
  • CU is a 7.5-point favorite, and that sounds about right. Tough game (as it usually is), but Buffs prevail in the end (42%, 172 Votes)
  • Rams couldn't handle Hawai'i, a lower tier G5 school, at home. Buffs take down the Rams in a rout! (39%, 161 Votes)
  • Sounds strange, but I'm actually quite worried about this game. Buffs can't overlook Rams ... or they will start the season with a loss (19%, 78 Votes)

Start Date: August 30, 2018 @ 5:56 pm
End Date: No Expiry

What are your plans for the 2018 Rocky Mountain Showdown?
  • I'll be watching on TV, or listening on the radio (73%, 277 Votes)
  • I'll be in the stands at Mile High, (hopefully) cheering on my Buffs to a win over the Rams! (22%, 85 Votes)
  • I have other plans for Friday night. I'll catch up with the Buffs late Friday or early Saturday (5%, 19 Votes)

Start Date: August 29, 2018 @ 6:05 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
