Does Laviska Shenault have a chance at the Heisman trophy?
  • No ... but if his numbers hold up, he could become the first Buff to win the Biletnikoff Award (65%, 243 Votes)
  • Yes. Leading the nation in receptions and receiving yards gets you invited to the Downtown Athletic Club - provided CU keeps winning and rising up the national rankings (21%, 79 Votes)
  • No. Wide receivers don't win the Heisman, and certainly not one from a CU team which is still not on the national radar (14%, 51 Votes)

Which Pac-12 game holds for you the most interest this weekend?
  • No. 7 Washington (5-1, 3-0) at No. 17 Oregon (4-1, 1-1). Is Washington the true leader of the Pac-12 North, or is Oregon primed to resume title of "Top Duck"? (62%, 234 Votes)
  • Arizona (3-3, 2-1) at Utah 3-2, 1-2). One of these teams will emerge as a Pac-12 South contender. Washington v. Oregon has national implications, but this game means more to CU (37%, 140 Votes)
  • UCLA (0-5, 0-2) at Cal (3-2, 0-2). Is this the week that Chip Kelly and his "Baby Bruins" break through? (1%, 4 Votes)

No. 19 Colorado a seven-point underdog on the road against USC. Thoughts?
  • I just hope the CU coaches find a way to make this a motivation point for the team ... along with that 0-12 all-time record! (45%, 179 Votes)
  • If we're being honest, the line is probably about right. USC is at home, does have the talent, and has had an extra week to prepare for this game (45%, 176 Votes)
  • An undefeated ranked team a touchdown underdog to a 3-2 team? More disrespect for the Buffs. Take the points and run to the bank with your winnings! (10%, 39 Votes)

Colorado moves up to No. 19 in the Associated Press poll (No. 18 in USA Today/Coaches poll).
  • I like it. The Buffs are back in the national conversation, with Shenault and Montez getting the recognition they deserve. It's fun to be part of the national dialogue once again (58%, 238 Votes)
  • Grateful for the ranking, but national polls are not on the list of this team's goals. I'd rather the team be unranked and hungry (35%, 142 Votes)
  • The Buffs should have moved higher. There are 11 unbeaten teams left, with CU the only one west of the Mississippi. If the Buffs played in a different conference, they would be ranked higher (7%, 29 Votes)

Colorado defeats Arizona State, 27-20, to run its record to 5-0. Thoughts?
  • Damn, I love this team! Laviska Shenault + great second-half adjustments = 5-0 and a move up the national rankings! Look out world, here comes the Buffs!! (45%, 207 Votes)
  • A great win, to be sure. Still, there are issues - the Buffs were run over in the first half, and CU is relying too much on Laviska Shenault. That will come back to haunt the Buffs down the road (29%, 134 Votes)
  • Don't care about USC and Washington (yet). It's been a long road back from irrelevance, but I am so happy to be a Buff fan right now!! (26%, 114 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
