Report: CU to name Tyson Summers as its defensive coordinator. Thoughts?
- In Tuck We Trust! Not sure about the hire, but I'll give Summers the benefit of the doubt. Tucker is a defensive coach, so the head coach will still oversee the defense. Fingers crossed. (61%, 275 Votes)
- Hate it. A 5-13 record as a head coach (at a G5 school), no proven track record of excellence as a defensive coordinator, and no background recruiting Texas or the West. Color me disappointed (23%, 103 Votes)
- Like it! Head coaching experience? Check. Defensive coordinator experience? Check. Familiar with how Coach Tucker will want to run his defense? Check. What's not to like? (16%, 70 Votes)

Six of CU's 20 previous verbal commitments from the Recruiting Class of 2019 have de-committed. Your level of concern?
- Medium. I would have preferred to hang on some of the commits (especially QB Ty Evans, who was an in-state commit, and an apparent leader in recruiting other prospects) (42%, 209 Votes)
- Low. In Mel Tucker we trust. We have to have faith that the new coaching staff will pick up other (and better) recruits, either by the 19th, or by the February Signing Day (40%, 201 Votes)
- High. Thirty percent of the Class gone? With no new commitments? Recruiting is the key to success, and CU seems to be sacrificing this Class (18%, 90 Votes)

Report: Coach Tucker to retain four assistants from Mike MacIntyre's staff. Thoughts?
- Good news. Buff alumni Chiaverini and Hagan, plus quality coaches in Els and Drake. Not sure about keeping all four, but in Tucker we trust! (55%, 232 Votes)
- Great news! Continuity with the current players; continuity with the Buff Nation; better chance of keeping the Recruiting Class together - what's not to like? (34%, 142 Votes)
- Not excited. Nothing personal, but after a decade of losing, I was hoping for a fresh start. Retaining 40% of a staff which couldn't find a way to win six games is not the best way to get there (11%, 46 Votes)

Which CU year-end award most surprises you?
- None of the above - They all make sense to me. Congrats, Buffs! (72%, 261 Votes)
- Best interview - Quarterback Steven Montez (12%, 43 Votes)
- Team offensive outstanding player - Running back Travon McMillian (10%, 37 Votes)
- Outstanding team leadership - Linebacker Rick Gamboa (3%, 11 Votes)
- Team MVP - Wide receiver Laviska Shenault (2%, 7 Votes)
- Team defensive defensive players - Defensive lineman Mustafa Johnson / Linebacker Nate Landman (1%, 5 Votes)

Buffs beat Illinois-Chicago, 84-72, to run their record to 7-1. Thoughts?
- Somewhat impressed. The Pac-12 doesn't have many very good teams. The Buffs may not be great, but they have played well in spurts, so there is hope for a decent Pac-12 run (51%, 149 Votes)
- Not impressed. Buffs won't play at home again until January 10th. Let's see what CU's record after the Buffs have played some real competition (33%, 96 Votes)
- Impressed. Balanced scoring + selfless play + McKinley Wright taking over in close games = a team which can make some noise in the Pac-12 (16%, 47 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
