Which factoid about the Washington game do you find to be the most disconcerting?
  • None of the above. Each year is a new year, and the Buffs are a different team under Mel Tucker. Throw out the stats ... and let's take down the Huskies! (60%, 162 Votes)
  • That the last time CU beat Washington, Darrin Chiaverini was a CU wide receiver, and Rick Neuheisel was the coach ... for CU (20%, 53 Votes)
  • That in the first ten games this season, the Huskies have out-scored the opposition, 107-13 (19%, 50 Votes)
  • That UW has 14 returns for scores over the past five years, and has given up zero ... and has allowed a grand total of seven punt return yards all season (1%, 5 Votes)

Buffs defeat UC-Irvine, 69-53, to move to 3-0 on the season. Thoughts?
  • I'm just glad to see that the Buffs are not off to their (usual) slow start to the season ... and being ranked this early for the first time in 50 years is pretty cool! (42%, 116 Votes)
  • A great team win. The Buffs held a team which won 31 games last year to 21 field goals ... with 22 turnovers. This is a tournament team!! (38%, 104 Votes)
  • Glad that the Buffs are 3-0, but we won't know how actually good Arizona State, San Diego and UC-Irvine are for some time. Fingers crossed for future success (20%, 55 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from four-star defensive back Christian Gonzalez. Thoughts?
  • Hmmm ... A four-star commitment in a position of need? Gonzalez checks all of the boxes, and could be an impact player as a freshman. Welcome, Mr. Gonzalez, to the Buff Nation!! (46%, 192 Votes)
  • CU currently has more four-star recruits than any class in the past ten years. December 18th can't get here soon enough!! (38%, 160 Votes)
  • Fingers crossed. Gonzalez was a Purdue commit before switching to CU, and with offers from schools like Alabama and Ohio State, could switch again. Ask me again about Gonzalez after Signing Day (16%, 69 Votes)

Colorado opens as a 14.5-point underdog to Washington. Thoughts?
  • It will probably come in close to the number. As in years past, the Buffs will play with heart early, but the Huskies will pull away late (47%, 149 Votes)
  • Take the Buffs and the points! Las Vegas didn't see the effort by the Buffs against Stanford. CU will play hard on Senior Night (and could pull out a win)! (37%, 118 Votes)
  • Hate to say it, but if you watched the Washington/Oregon State game (Beavers had eight total yards in the second half), you can see a blowout coming (16%, 50 Votes)

No. 25 Colorado defeats San Diego, 71-53. Thoughts?
  • Nice win. Buffs shook off some rust from the China trip to win the home opener in a decisive manner. Thumbs up! (44%, 101 Votes)
  • Most fans won't remember that CU has lost to San Diego the last two seasons. One more important step for the 2019-20 Buffs. Glad to have the "W" and move on (38%, 86 Votes)
  • Most fans won't remember that it was a 46-42 game with ten minutes left before CU went on a 18-0 run. Sloppy play for 30 minutes is not advisable (18%, 42 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
