CU picks up a commitment from a three-star defensive back from California, Simeon Harris. Thoughts?
- I guess I trust the staff. Harris only played two games last fall, and his recruiting profile has been improving after attending summer camps. Fingers crossed CU got a hidden gem (58%, 140 Votes)
- Broken record time ... four offers, all from the Mountain West. This Class continues to swim in mediocrity. I had hopes that this staff would raise CU's recruiting profile, but it isn't happening (31%, 75 Votes)
- Good on several fronts. It's good to finally have a commitment from California, and it's nice to see the Buffs loading up on defensive backs (five from this Class) (11%, 26 Votes)

Alabama head coach brags to Texas high school coaches that his QB is going to close to $1 million in NIL money. Thoughts?
- All those who said that NIL was about fairness, and not about recruiting advantages for the haves, go sit in the corner. The genie is out of the bottle, and collegiate sports will never be the same (68%, 183 Votes)
- Good for the young man. The player is only receiving what the market will bear. If fools and their money want to be parted in exchange for endorsements from an unproven quarterback, so what? (20%, 53 Votes)
- A sophomore without a start, and one touchdown in mop up duty - already a millionaire? Thanks, NCAA and Congress for not coming up with realistic rules for Name, Image and Likeness uses (12%, 32 Votes)

Are the CU cornerbacks a strength or a liability heading into the 2021 season?
- A mixed bag. Gonzalez has true star potential (and will be an NFL pick down the road), and Blackmon is good. If any of the backups and/or incoming freshman can show they can play, CU will be fine (84%, 185 Votes)
- A definite strength. As DC Wilson noted, Christian Gonzalez is "on the verge of having a breakout year", and Mekhi Blackmon is solid. Other Pac-12 schools wish they had such solid starters (10%, 23 Votes)
- A weakness. Blackmon has shown a propensity to be injured, and the backups are - to put it generously - untested. Fingers crossed on every down that Gonzalez and Blackmon don't get hurt (6%, 13 Votes)

What news about CU's inside linebackers - as Fall Camp approaches - gives you the most optimism about the season?
- That Nate Landman is apparently healthy and ready to go for fall. Chris Wilson: "We’re excited to get him back and get him going" - Anything on top of that is just icing on the cake (66%, 142 Votes)
- That DC Chris Wilson likes the transfers, Robert Barnes and Jack Lamb: "They’re not trying to sell the places they’ve been; they just come out and show their work ethic every day" (29%, 63 Votes)
- That junior Jonathan Van Diest has made an impression: "We’re just excited to have him again. He’s a guy who comes in and he’s willing to compete and play wherever you want him" (5%, 10 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from defensive coordinator Chris Wilson about the outside linebackers gives you the most optimism about the fall campaign?
- “These guys really had a great spring. They’re digesting the system really well and they’re just creating competition across the board. That’s the biggest thing is that we develop" (55%, 64 Votes)
- On Carson Wells: “He’s only improved this offseason. I really believe just that his continued growth and the way he works and how important it is to him" (25%, 29 Votes)
- On junior Carson Wells, junior Jamar Montgomery and junior Guy Thomas: "We’ve got a really good veteran group of guys there" (20%, 23 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
