CBS has Karl Dorrell as the No. 9 coach in the Pac-12, the No. 54 coach in the nation. Thoughts?
- Too low. A certain coach at UCLA is 10-21 after three years in Westwood, and is ranked three spots above Dorrell. It's not about results, it's about perception. I'm about over the preseason ... (54%, 91 Votes)
- Sad to say, but it's probably pretty accurate. The 4-2 record was impressive under the circumstances, but Dorrell still has plenty to prove. (26%, 43 Votes)
- I guess it's good that Dorrell moved up three spots. I don't know about the No. 54 national ranking, though - Dorrell is certainly higher than that in the national pecking order (20%, 33 Votes)

Lindy's has CU as the No. 4 team in the Pac-12 South, yet "poised to contend again for the division championship"
- Nice to see a national publication which sees CU as having a chance at winning the Pac-12 South. While USC and Arizona State may have more talented rosters, CU showed last season that they can play (39%, 56 Votes)
- I like that Lindy's has CU in a No. 43 nationally. CU is not a Top 25 team, but better than being listed in the 60s (as some other lazy - and disrespectful - sites have done) (34%, 48 Votes)
- Fine that Lindy's at least gave CU a chance at the division ... and at least acknowledged that Chip Kelly has done nothing at UCLA to warrant praised received by other publications (27%, 39 Votes)

CU adds future games against Wyoming, SMU, North Texas and Oklahoma State. Thoughts?
- Not super interested - at least not today. Only one of the new games will be played in the next nine years. Hard to get excited now about games to be played in the 2030s (51%, 120 Votes)
- Great! A home game against Wyoming? Sell out. Games scheduled in Texas? (Six of CU's ten Class of '22 commits are from Texas). Great idea! Oklahoma State? Renewed rivalry. It's all good! (41%, 95 Votes)
- Only Oklahoma State is from a Power Five conference. Not sure that this is the direction CU should be going when trying to ramp up its national profile (8%, 19 Votes)

Which "skill position" unit at Colorado are you most excited about for this fall?
- The running backs. How many times has CU had the reigning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, and the leading rusher from the year before? Jarek Broussard + Alex Fontenot + Ashaad Clayton? Thumbs up! (66%, 178 Votes)
- The quarterbacks. The room might not have the depth we want, but CU has two quality options with Brendon Lewis and J.T. Shrout ... with Drew Carter waiting in the wings (20%, 54 Votes)
- The wide receivers. Just check out the roster: Dimitri Stanley .. La'Vontae Shenault .. Brenden Rice .. Daniel Arias .. Maurice Bell .. not to mention eight freshmen ... (14%, 38 Votes)

Miami players to each earn $6,000/year from a training academy in Florida for use of their Name, Image and Likeness, while Nike will give Oregon star Kayvon Thibodeaux a six-figure deal. Thoughts?
- Thanks, NCAA and Congress, for leaving us with the Wild, Wild West. NIL was supposed to help players promote themselves, and this is just the tip of the iceberg of what is going to happen nationally (44%, 101 Votes)
- $6,000/year is not that much, but if Phil Knight is able to buy a championship team ... how will programs like CU ever have a chance of competing? (36%, 83 Votes)
- It's interesting, but not devastating. Good for the players to be making some extra coin. "Buffs with a Brand" - you're up. If CU is going to stay competitive ... well, it starts now (20%, 45 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
