Thoughts on the Pac-12's opening weekend of play
  • All I know is the rest of the Pac-12 South went 4-0. It's going to be a tough year (44%, 73 Votes)
  • Impressed. Washington; UCLA looked good - Oregon unstoppable (31%, 51 Votes)
  • Weaker than expected. A ranked Oregon State team lost to a 1-AA team. Cal; WSU lost opportunities; USC; Utah not impressive (25%, 43 Votes)

Start Date: September 1, 2013 @ 7:03 am
End Date: No Expiry

Aside from winning the game itself, what I am looking for from Mike Mac's Buffs
  • Consistent play on both sides of the ball; reduction of silly mistakes (61%, 145 Votes)
  • Positive bounce back from adversity. It's going to happen this season - the true test is whether the team remains positive (20%, 48 Votes)
  • Nothing. I don't care how ... just win the damn game Sunday! (19%, 45 Votes)

Start Date: August 31, 2013 @ 7:56 am
End Date: No Expiry

My updated prediction for CU's 2013 record ...
  • 4-8 / 5-7 - Talent was already there; new coaching staff gets things turned around quickly (55%, 182 Votes)
  • 2-10 / 3-9 - Sounds bad, but actually quite an improvement over last season (29%, 96 Votes)
  • 6-6 or better. Coach MacIntyre for Coach of the Year! (13%, 42 Votes)
  • 0-12 / 1-11 - Buff Nation gets a reality check - It's a long road back (3%, 9 Votes)

Start Date: August 30, 2013 @ 9:33 am
End Date: No Expiry

CSU's starting quarterback against CU will be ...
  • Don't know / Don't care. CU (unfortnately) has to prepare for all three (55%, 137 Votes)
  • Soph. Conner Smith. Finished 2012 as starter; QB for CSU's other three wins (20%, 49 Votes)
  • Jr. Garrett Grayson. Started last year's game ... and beat the Buffs (19%, 48 Votes)
  • Fr. Nick Stevens. QB of the future ready for his debut (6%, 14 Votes)

Start Date: August 29, 2013 @ 12:15 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Are you concerned about how the Buffs will react to adversity this weekend?
  • No. This is a new coaching staff with a new attitude. The team is better conditioned to handle negative plays (45%, 121 Votes)
  • Yes. The confidence of this team has to be fragile. I'm worried that a bad start could lead to a bad finish (44%, 120 Votes)
  • Not a concern. There will be NO adversity this weekend. Buffs roll! (11%, 30 Votes)

Start Date: August 28, 2013 @ 3:39 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
