CU picks up a commitment from three-star Georgia cornerback Ronnie Blackmon
  • Love it! First big-time recruit (i.e., multiple P-5 offers) from the Class of 2016! (71%, 224 Votes)
  • Like it. Good credientials, but at only 5'10", Blackmon's not the prototype CB (17%, 54 Votes)
  • Can't complain ... though I'm worried CU won't be able to keep him from decommitting later (12%, 39 Votes)

Phil Steele sees CU as one of his top nine "Value Plays" at 4.5/5.0 wins
  • Absolutely correct. CU could be 4-0 to start the season! Definitely go with the over on the Buffs! (47%, 104 Votes)
  • Probably correct. CU does have two "gimmie" wins, and a 13-game schedule. Five wins seem likely (46%, 102 Votes)
  • A tough call. CU did only win two games last year, and none in Pac-12 play (7%, 14 Votes)

Less than two months before the opening kickoff to the 2015 season. Your emotional status:
  • Getting more excited every day! I believe the Buffs will make great strides this fall (52%, 148 Votes)

My grade for the CU linebackers
  • B ... Gillam and Olugbode are good, but there is little proven depth behind them (47%, 112 Votes)
  • C ... Jim Leavitt has his work cut out for him in getting the most out of this roster (44%, 105 Votes)
  • D ... One interception for the unit in the past 32 games ... 'Nuff said (5%, 12 Votes)
  • A ... Gillam and Olugbode are a terrific one-two tandem (4%, 7 Votes)

Rick George on cost of attendance: "I don't think it's going to be a huge factor in terms of recruiting"
  • I disagree. This will become the next method by which the Oregons of the world spend more to attract recruits (57%, 65 Votes)
  • I agree. As with extra TV's in the weight room, extra dollars for cost of attendance won't factor significantly into recruiting (43%, 50 Votes)

Start Date: July 3, 2015 @ 8:04 pm

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
