  • Steven Montez - A true freshman, but it sounds like he has the makings of the next great CU quarterback (14%, 47 Votes)

At the midway point of Fall Camp, my impressions ...
  • Very excited. Reports have been positive; coaches and players sound like they are focused on posting "W's" (47%, 155 Votes)

Which position gives you the greatest concern heading into the season?
  • Kicker - Two missed PAT's in the scrimmage makes me even more nervous (47%, 152 Votes)
  • Defensive tackle - Losing both Tupou and Henington creates a huge deficiency in the line (42%, 136 Votes)
  • Guards - CU replacing both - the offense won't go without solid offensive line play (11%, 36 Votes)

  • 4-9 ... Buffs continue to get better, but continue to lose close games (28%, 70 Votes)
  • 2-11 ... Pac-12 losing streak reaches 20 games ... and the search for a new coach begins (26%, 67 Votes)
  • 3-10 ... CU won't be favored in any Pac-12 conference games (25%, 64 Votes)
  • 5-8 ... At least 3-1 in non-conference, and picking up a pair of Pac-12 wins (21%, 53 Votes)

What do consider to be the "best case scenario" for CU?
  • Bowl-eligibility and a winning season would be nice, thank you! (68%, 191 Votes)

  • 4-9 or 5-8 is about it ... but still much better than last year (7%, 20 Votes)
  • Undefeated national champions, of course! (7%, 17 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
