Condoleezza Rice and Larry Scott want to keep playoffs at four teams
  • It doesn't matter what we think. All that matters is the money (i.e., television), so expansion is inevitable (41%, 80 Votes)
  • I disagree. The more, the merrier. Having eight or 16 teams would increase interest all the more in college football (33%, 63 Votes)
  • I agree. If the playoffs are expanded, the regular season will be diluted (26%, 50 Votes)

Rate the success of the "Drive for 105" to date
  • Excellent. Rick George has already raised $75M at a school which scrounged to raise $15M per year (56%, 118 Votes)
  • Good. Impressive so far, but I'll be interested to see how the more public phase (bricks? plaques?) is rolled out (39%, 81 Votes)
  • Fair. Not bad, but there is still a long way to go, and I'm concerned about CU reaching its goals (5%, 11 Votes)

When will you start to be worried about CU and its lack of recruits?
  • Not for some time. I'd prefer CU wait until the wins come this fall before getting too many commits (52%, 118 Votes)
  • I'd give it until June or July. If there are no commitments by then, I'll be getting nervous (35%, 79 Votes)
  • What do you mean, "when will you start to be worried"? I'm nervous already (13%, 29 Votes)

How much attention do you pay to spring practice news from other teams?
  • A little. If there are injuries, transfers, or other roster issues yes, but spring game details? Not so much (50%, 112 Votes)
  • None. I have a hard enough time just keeping up to date on the Buffs (38%, 86 Votes)
  • Some. It's nice to know what other teams in the Pac-12 are up to during the off-season (12%, 26 Votes)

Mike MacIntyre in the "6th-hottest seat" amongst 127 coaches nationally
  • May not be true right now, but another 0-fer in conference play this fall, and the ranking will be justified (57%, 152 Votes)
  • Zerp validity. Rick George sees the progress being made, and he has the final say (35%, 95 Votes)
  • About right, I'm afraid. You can't be 1-17 in conference play and be comfortable (8%, 21 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
